I thought our 18 year hate campaign of Judas was impressive but that mofo has got a hatred of us going back to 1972...that's a magnificent 47 years.

How's the mood now fellas? I'm starting to get nervous now that we're getting close.

Just posted on our board, our team picks itself imo.

    Alisson
    TAA Matip VVD Robbo
    Fabinho
    Wijnaldum Hendo
    Salah Bobby Mane
    Who starts for you?

TBH, Spurs did him a big favour, a wake up call. He chose to wake up to his credit. Always had the skill, not always had the drive.

Depends how fit some of our returning players are and whether they can play 90 (or 120 if need be) minutes or are only good enough to start from the bench. If Kane and Winks aren’t fit to start then:

    Hugo
    Tripps, Toby, Jan, Rose
    Sissoko, Dier
    Lucas, Eriksen, Alli
    Son

If they are fit enough, then a tough choice between who to drop out of Son or Lucas.

    Hugo
    Tripps, Toby, Jan, Rose
    Sissoko, Winks
    Lucas/ Son, Eriksen, Alli
    Kane

I'm wondering if Poch will play lucas and son on the flanks and llorente up top.we need to stop the mousers fullbacks from bombing forward.bring kane on late on in case it goes to penalties

Poch is probably wondering the same:)

I would want Son, Kane, Llorente, Eriksen and Deli on the pitch if it goes to 120 minutes

I can see why we’d start Kane and I’d be genuinely tempted to, but it’s a massive risk. If the game goes past 90 and he’s been playing from the start I don’t think he’s going to make it to the end. And if he starts and has to go off early doors because he’s coming back from injury, that’s not a good situation to be in either.

On balance I think I’d rather see him start on the bench, with Son, Llorente and Moura starting up top. Get Kane revved up and on the pitch from 55 mins or even half time if we need him. What a player to bring on to chase a game, what a lift to the whole team that would bring. But starting him is a risk on a number of levels. It’s a really difficult choice either way.

It’s starting to sink in - we’re actually in a Champions League final on Saturday...

Kane may be fit but not match fit so that's a big call to play him from the start so coming off the bench is the best decision in my opinion

Not sure that's a good idea, you're taking two of your best players out of the game as we go forward constantly. Running the channels in behind our full backs is an option Messi constantly found room in the wide areas. The other problem with that tactic is it stretches the game and will give our front 3 opportunities to run channels and square up your fullbacks, imagine Trippier one on one with Mane all game.

But on the flip side we have two of the fastest wide men in the league/ Europe up against your full backs so it may make your lads a tad cautious about wanting to bomb forward all the time in fear of leaving too much space for a counter.

I think we have to play a game where our primary focus is about what we can do. Not focusing on what you can do. I feel too many sides have focused on trying to stop you and it’s proven pointless because you’re so good at breaking teams down. But if we try and take our “A game” to you, of controlling the possession, working it through Eriksen and the wide men, then it gives us a stronger chance than just trying to nullify your full backs and front three.

This. But for both teams, we could pick over the tactics all day on this and get nowhere as it's beyond you or I. Workrate and desire will be huge in this and both teams are hard working so even that is even. This might be won by the defenders ability to keep the forwards out and once again that is a strength of both teams. **** knows what will happen, yes were favourites and have the better team overall but there's quality in both teams I just hope it's not a mistake, a dodgy ref or the dreaded VAR that settles this.

It really is down to whether the club medics/ physios feel he can play from the off or not.

If he is fit for 120 minutes, he has to start for me. He’s our best attacker and he’s one of the closest things we have to an on-field leader.

I wouldn’t be against going with a very attack minded team on Saturday. A lot of people may say “but Pool will punish you with that” but realistically, Pool have punished more or less everyone and a number of those sides have often tried sitting back and soaking up play with no reward.

I’d be tempted to throw all of our best attacking players on the pitch from the off and hope that the three week rest has allowed Sissoko to go full beast mode and hold the midfield on his own, which he’s done so many times this season.

    Hugo
    Tripps, Toby, Jan, Rose
    Sissoko, Eriksen
    Lucas, Alli, Son
    Kane

For sure, we’ll probably concede a goal or two going like that, but if we can’t score a goal or two with that side, I’d be very surprised. May make for stressful evening but could pay off.

    https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...s-league-final-ticket-to-watch-it-with-my-dad

A lovely article in The Gruniad from Max Rushden. Football and more particularly, Tottenham Hotspur, has done more to hold large elements of my family together than weddings, funerals and grandchildren. I genuinely believe that without the club some of my immediate family wouldn't speak a civil word to each other.

WARNING: DON'T read the comments box without a large box of tissues to hand. It's gonna make you weep more than Bambi, Bucket List and the end of Field of Dreams put together. <wah>

    Completely agree mate.

While this is an all English final, Premier League form is irrelevant. Both teams have gotten to a European final having beaten some of the best teams around.

Previous form really does go out the window for this, especially as there’s been a three week break since we both last played.

It’s literally going to be a case of who wants it more and who implements their game on the other.
