The last time a club started a European Final with no players from their home nation was Inter v Bayern 2010. Between both Arsenal and Chelsea, there was an astonishing 15 different nationalities in the starting line-ups alone. This equalled the record for most in a European Cup final. The other two on a par with this one are Atlético Madrid - Fulham (EL, 2010) Ajax - Manchester United (EL, 2017).
Hilarious. What a set of fannies. Blood Bro Fam You understand? The fella on the left has his own language - street innit.
At least the locals in Baku could have a great day out at a sporting event , who cares about actual fans of the teams involved not UEFA obviously , only ££££ count these days
When your fanbase is made up of ****s like these and ****s like Piers Morgan, why would you want to play for them?
I was thinking more of someone not from the city where the clubs are from in a half and half shirt, half and half shirts deserving cruel and inhuman punishment whatever clubs are involved. Especially City ones.. Holding 3 lots of food added to it. Drinking water from a plastic cup just completed it.
May as well have one of my favourite Who tracks. Doesn’t sound too great but the live version is worth watching just for Keith Moon. Always thought it should have been released as a single.
I threw that in the earlier post - we must have overlapped. It is Friday ain't it ? We're ahead of ourselves it seems. Life is short... Best concert I've ever been to in my life...went to get a beer three times during the track ...
Saw the Who twice at Brid. The first time we had a drink with them in the bar of where they were staying. They weren’t as keen on stopping 15 year olds getting a pint. Second time was the Saturday before England won the World Cup. To be honest, although it was a good spectacle, they didn’t sound that great. Without doubt the best performance I have ever seen was Little Richard. I saw the Beatles, Stones and virtually every top act of the times but the one I wish I could go back and relive is Little Richard.Saw him on a Thursday night following the Stones the Saturday before when Brian Jones used the famous white Vox teardrop guitar for the first time in this country. Great time to be a 14 year old in a little place like Brid. On here he is backed by Sounds Incorporated, who are good, but when I saw him he had his own band with 2 drummers.
I did (miss it) 'cos I was living in Leeds. I thought the reason they took the Leeds recording the day after the Hull (Regal ?) recording was that there were acoustic problems in Hull ? No base fixed or summat ? That would mean the Hull gig was on Friday 13th Feb (bad omen) whereas the Leeds gig was Valentine's day on 14th Feb (sweet omen !). The latter is etched in my mind as I was part of the organizing team at Leeds U.U. However - lots of **** has passed since then, so maybe I'm confused. Edit: Just looked at my "Who Live @ Leeds Again' Reunion Concert booklet (June 2006) which confirms the original Leeds gig was feb 14th. and the Hull gig in City Hall on 15th Feb. I still believe the Leeds recording was picked over the Hull one because of technical audio problems. At least that's my recollection (potentially addled through times arrow effects !).
It was recorded at the City hall and there were some sound problems. The bass was non existent for the first four songs and there weren't enough microphones to pick up the crowd. Johns bass from the Leeds gig was very cleverly added to the Live at Hull recording. The band always insisted the Hull gig was the better gig and that's why it was eventually restored. You Ull
