    You would but these people do exist. Some people use these announcements to pressurise the selling party if they know they are weak. To be fair I doubt they've looked at Mike like that. I know he's took a few hits recently but its hardly time for the vultures to circle.

    I hope its a goer but as I say we have zero evidence at present.

    I don't think they would. However it wouldn't be the first time a group like this, of this supposed wealth, has jumped the gun or put out false information.

    For what its worth I think there probably is an offer and they probably think are quite far down the line and have an agreed deal. However the biggest stumbling point is Ashley. He is more than capable of moving goalposts or scuppering any deal. I still can't understand why he'd sell. The clubs value won't plummet unless we are a joke of a club and suffer multiple relegations. So he has a profit making business which he invests little or no time in, that will probably increase in value, I'm not sure where his incentive is at 350M.

    Why wouldn't the premier league just refute the claim rather than say the balls in Newcastle court ?

    All we have is some statements from a party purporting to be in talks to buy the club. Its not evidence. Loads of groups and people have made that statement over the years and never been seen again. Proof would be confirmation from the PL or NUFC confirming the deal is agreed. Otherwise its just some upstart flapping their gums as far as I'm concerned :biggrin:
