Just an attempt to steer us away from the past weeks events, this is an article about a man I greatly admired as a fifteen year old, and still do. I enjoyed the article hope you do too. I tried to copy and paste the article, but, only allowed 1000 characters, and this article is over 14000, so you will have to click on the link, well worth it IMO

I remember Johnny Crossan. He used to live at South Bents in Whitburn to the game . He used to drink in the now disappeared Bay Hotel which never checked whether you were old enough to be there for a drink.

I've been in his sports shop and have seen him about and by all accounts he's a gentleman.

Famous venue for bands, Steppenwolf, Family etc, check out Geof Dochertys,,,,` Confessions of a Promoter` also, a pal of mine demolished the Bay hotel, and used the materials to build on the old RoKoKo night club site, before that was a public lavatory, now known as Smugglers. Also as a youngan I used to fit his number plates to his freeby [ sponsored by Youngs of roker avenue ] car. A Ford Capri fastback, circa 1963, think the reg was WBR 500, OR WGR 500.
Was a true gentleman then, and I dont see anything that would have changed that.
