I wonder how he'll get on? Got a couple of decent midfielders in Payet and Strootman, plus our old mate N'Jie.

It’ll be interesting to keep tabs on him. Despite how it turned out with us in the end I always had a soft spot for AVB after his ‘we is us’ spat with Neil Ashton when the DM hack was trying to spread ****.

He is the only Spurs manager I wanted sacked...bloke in a coat don't count cos wanting that twat outta spurs is like breathing...and since he left he us such a bitter twat, rather than just a useless twat.

    Really?

He probably left us embittered because he had been forced to sell his and the premier league's best player and then sit back and watch Commoli's Travelling Circus roll into town to piss away half the money on players he didn't want. This having already inherited a severely depleted squad lacking even the faintest impression of an attempt to replace Modric and VDV who left ahead of his first season, followed by Ledley's retirement soon after. Then we forget losing the cumulative experience of Parker, Dempsey and Defoe in the same window as the Circus - again, nothing of note was done to counterbalance that. I almost felt sorry for him when he got the boot. Never thought it would work out after the way he flopped at Chelsea but not for the reasons we eventually saw. And don't forget, we have him to thank for Dembele, Hugo and Jan.

He was a bit of a damp flannel in front of the cameras but prowled the sidelines with a real passion. Some of his rolex-busting air punches were legendary and the determination and grit an already threadbare team showed on many occasions in his first season was reflective of that. He secured a record points tally which 9 times out of 10 would've been enough to secure CL football. IMO his only unforgivable mistakes were selling VDV, handing Adebayor a contract and his treatment of Benny.

I sometimes think people point the finger at him instead of Levy for the colossal **** up of the post Harry era. What a botched, confused, listless and penniless period of decision making that was and I think it hit Levy so hard he hasn't been the same since. Apart from the penniless bit. I think he spent most of the time during Tim's stewardship talking to the likes of Pleat and Mabbut and working out a vision for the future and who the right man would be to deliver that future.

The football was awful at times but we've seen plenty worse this season I hate to break it to everyone. And the symptoms are very, very similar: a squad near enough its breaking point with glaringly obvious areas in need of an overhaul. The biggest difference is possibly the fact that AVB managed a group of mismatched strangers whereas Poch has nurtured this group into one cohesive unit.

I wanted Gerry Francis out some time before he left......and Christian Gross......and Juande Ramos.....and AVB.

I never called for Ossie or Glenn Hoddle to be sacked but they had to go and I had no argument with the decisions. Great players for us but poor managers.

I was a fan of Harry but the time for him and us to part ways was about right.

Since Keith Burkinshaw, the only undeserved departure was Martin Jol. He was stitched up by Commolli and deserved much better from Daniel Levy and the club.

AVB was the prick that publically tapped up Modric when he was Chelsea manager ... he spoke about how spurs were not a big club and Chelsea were ...for him to then whine when clubs tapped up spurs players showed him to be a hypocritical twat.

AVB also made stupid comments that simply inspired our opponents...
Arsensl are in a negative spiral being one!

His attitude to Lennon and Defoe was stupid too in my view.

AVB slagged the fans off for not being loud enough...when he was being questioned by the media about why spurs were playing tedious football.

As for terrible football this season...maybe it is worth remembering our crippling injury problems.
    Kane (twice)
    Winks (twice)
    Vertonghen (twice)
    Lloris (twice)
    Sissoko
    Dier (three times at least)
    Davies (twice)
    Lamela (too many to remember)
Son away on international duty (twice)
    Rose (twice)
    Eriksen
    Dele (twice)
    Moura

Then there was plsying at the wembley **** hole.

Tbh some of the criticism of this season has been way ott ... comparing it to AVB's time being a case in point.

Am still sad about how our club treated Martin Jol.

He took us from below the depths of mediocrity to challenging for the top 4.
He was a key psrt in msking us believe we had turned things around...in that respect I hold him higher than Harry and on a parr with Pochettino...if Pochettino were to win a trophy he would go ahead of him...but the leap we made under Jol was extraordinary imho.
