In 6 KO stage games, Spurs : - won 4 of them (including two away) - scored 3 goals in half of them The traits of a CL finalist methinks.
Liverpool have only won 7 of their 12 and we have both lost 4 times - all Liverpools defeats have been away from Anfield, we have lost 2 away and 2 at home. Both of us have 2 away wins all 4 coming in the knock out stages.
Anyone know if there’s a way to see what the lowest number of wins in a CL winning campaign is? I think mathematically the lowest could be three, because we only won two group games showing that just two wins (plus a draw) can get you through the groups, whilst you can essentially draw every game up until the final (score draw away, no score draw at home) meaning that only two wins in the group plus a win in the final could see you lift the trophy.
Today we have Cartilage Free Captain and The Liverpool Offside (...) featuring on each other's sites, and there's a few gems coming from their fans... "To lose to Spurs would feel like Liverpool had something stolen that was rightfully theirs." - Combine_Warrior "Center back: VvD. Period....On the midfield. With Fab, Henderson, and Gini, I would say we are edging Spurs on this...On the front, Mane-Firmino-Salah vs Son-Kane-Moura. I take the first any day. Its not a coincidence they are dubbed the front three." - WeRREDS "Spurs really do deserve an immense amount of credit for their season...That said, this is a game we should and will win." - Matt311 At least when Man Utd fans were being a bunch of entitled twats throughout the 90s they actually had something to back it up with...
A quick visit to the OS shows that nearly all tickets available have now been sold. The South Stand has one seat available. There are a number in the lower NE corner (away section). There are still a few thousand up in the gods that haven't been offferedfor sale, as yet but the place is going to be heaving. See you there!
Well, seems like we shouldn't be in the final and it's Liverpool's trophy already. Our players might just as well go find a nice beach and sunbathe. Why bother?
You and Spurlock have done nothing but tell yourselves that mate. https://www.not606.com/threads/the-tottenham-hotspur-spiral-watch.335992/page-352#post-12862464 Whatever helps you cope I suppose
I guess maths wasn't your strongest subject. A team could got through the group stage with 0 wins. If all the group stage games were drawn and all teams finished with 6 points the top two would still be determined by the rules. Then, as you say, K.O stages on away goals . And... Final on penalties.
Just checked the records and AEK drew all six group games in 02/03, but they failed to qualify, as Real and Roma got 9 points. Zenit did sneak through with six points in 13/14 though, winning only one game, drawing three and losing two.
