Sunderland fans were great yesterday, have seen many blaming the ref today though, if I was to blame anyone it’d be their incredibly negative manager
I honestly think our silly own goal put them on the back foot. They had a few blazing minutes afterwards, but they gradually seemed to aim to consolidate, and let us get at them. I see on their fórums the view about the manager is split - he took over a changing room that had imploded, and turned it around, and like Bowyer he lost an important player in january. But they complain that his tactics are too negative, and that was the impression they gave yesterday. It wasn't a classic for the neutral - mor a war of attrition. But I always felt with Taylor we had an extra bit of fizz going forward, and as one guy said on their fórum, we put players in their box when we attacked. It could have gone either way, but I thought we shaded it, and the goal was an exagerated reward for a bit more positive thinking.
Dills save from leadbitter was huge 2 down and we were gone , amazing day though still can’t get my head around the fact we didn’t fark it up .. it’s just not Charlton
Keep finding myself humming Red Red Robin and Woke Up This Morning Feeling Fine. Seeing Championship at the top of the forum page makes you grin too.
I’ve now watched the winning goal over 100 times - I haven’t laughed so much since I watched Elf’s running out of Accrington with the hump.
We all know we had a fair share of plastics there on Sunday, but two groups of our fans I am particularly pleased for. The Old Timers /Selhurst Vets...who always stick with this beautiful football club thru thin and thinner ...and the youngsters there with their Dads & Grandads. They have now seen that you don’t have to support Chelsea or Arsenal to enjoy a great day out at Wembley.
