No European football and very few on international duty must be a bonus though. I don't know about hardest league because I don't watch it but from what I've read, it's not renowned for quality and plenty of teams vying for the top spots sounds like everyone's in with a chance. How are you defining 'hardest'?
I would suggest most competitive is more accurate as so many teams are about the same level, but usually way off the Prem level as shown by how many promoted sides last less than two seasons.
Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley is in talks to sell the club to Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE billionaire's investment group has said. Sheikh Khaled, a cousin of Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour, failed with a £2bn takeover of Liverpool last year. It has been reported the deal for Newcastle is worth £350m. The Bin Zayed Group said it has agreed terms and hopes to complete the deal "at the earliest opportunity". https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48420387
Be surprised if our owners were ever offered £2 billion lol. They are business men not fans. Story makes no sense.
"We can confirm the representatives of his Highness Sheikh Khaled Bin Zayed Al Nahyan are in discussions with Mike Ashley and his team about the proposed acquisition of Newcastle United Football Club," the statement read. "We view it as an honour to have the opportunity to build on the strong support, history and tradition of the club."
mate European football is 6 games plus knockouts.. 8 to 10 games. championship clubs.. 24 teams = 8 extra games above prem. have same league cup and fa cup commitments. it's a dogfight.
Just the liverpool part treble. With the exception of probably city and chelsea who have alterior motives. Everyone else has owners who are business men and in it for profit.
It's 100% happening. I can see newkie buying a heap of city cast offs to boost city's ffp numbers and then moving on to become their best buds and just comfortably 4th. I can see a lot of kids being offered newkie to keep them sweet at city rather than **** off to Germany. this deal is imo flouting every rule based on a paper thin we are not same people game whereas it patently obvious they are one and the same
Rbh I just copy and pasted the first part so wasn't focusing on the Liverpool comment. I like Newcastle as a club, but can't help feeling the league is slowly losing its soul with these billionaires taking over clubs as their play things.
I have nothing against Newcastle, but I think it's time The PL and FA and UEFA consider setting up something similar to a Competitions and Market Authority like in any other business.
well if you're going to bring Europe into it then Championship teams start earlier in LC More to the point the PL teams in Europe have budgets and therefore squads which dwarf huge chunk of championship teams.
hmmmm... maybe you've got a point about the exaggeration we like to make about the prem and this. it's like a sky disease.
