well you can't value a player on one game but yeah i can't see £25m even though his stats look ok over this season his general play hasn't been great. Having said that who knows what a player is "worth" these days.
I know play-offs create a bit of excitement - but when a team ends with 7 points more than the team that goes up, it doesn't seem right to me.
Yup agreed. Same as Scotland where they have a play off between team in prem and team in div 1 to see if they stay up or go down and swap places.
That actually makes a bit more sense to me. It gives an indication of whether or not the lower team has what it takes to compete in the higher league. Obviously it's not a perfect test, and again it probably only exists to excite interest. However, when two teams are competing in the same league over 46 games, imo the one who gets the most points should get the rewards.
Agree. Just do away with play offs and just have 3up 3 down. Shouldnt have a ****ing wembley appearance just because you wasnt good enough in league to automatically go up ffs.
I agree. I know what garlic said is true as well but other than creating excitement for the fans of the 2 teams in the play off final, I don't see it being particularly good for football, as in creating interest for the game or enhancing it as a spectacle. I'm delighted for Tranmere though
The thing is the play offs keep the Championship having some reason for half the league to pretty much the last kick of the season. Over a 46 game season with a straight 3 up and down you could have a huge number of "who gives a ****" games.

We get that in the prem lol. Ok leave as is just dont agree with the wembley trip. Seems more rewarding than finishing 2nd.
the championship is possibly the hardest league in the world . They basically play twice a week all season often with not the biggest squads ad huge variances in finance.
probably gets more publicity and money but better to get auto promotion so you can start planning for next season 3-4 weeks earlier.
