you sure.... I can't remember bar it was like they took over on deadline day and next thing an hour later this chump was announced.
I dunno mate. We’ve given them a proper run for their money this year and they haven’t exactly blown the league away until Pep stepped in. He goes and we’re in with a shout, assuming Klopp stays. Money only gets you so far. Unfortunately the most money and a world class coach gives you a huge advantage. When I say pep is world class, I’d love to see him try to do what Klopp has done at Liverpool.....e.g. take a show of sh*t and turn them into real contenders in 3 years.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48366931 bbc claim that city quadruple would still be on if var was not nonexistence. There was no var in fa cup game for swansea yeah?? swansea got ****ing robbed. BBC in effect saying that without VAR the game would be even more corrupt.
Barca?? 3rd in la liga... (shocker that tbh) though given they were in CL semi final that year they won nothing. Pep took over and ****ed out ronaldiho, e'tto and deco. Like ok... so... its not a rebuild job but he brought in busquets and pedro from the b team and the directors brought in alves and pique. the won te treble in his first year... really thats as close as you'll get. If you look at bayern he didn't improve them at all. (IMO) he took a hard running and direct side (not hoof it) and were really close to title and took them into a possession game and were miles off in CL. If you look at city he had to "rebuild" cos he ****ed up his choices of signings year 1 with bravo) He comes and stays 3 years, maybe 4 if you are right.... He's not going to go into a 6th in table team and buy a whole new team until he has run out of the obvious jobs. Pepe still has juve and PSG before his career ends. Mourinho has done england, spain and italy. His mistake was not so much returning to england but he did a decent job at Chelsea to win a title but since then its been massively down hill.... to the point now theres nobody in that top tier looking. Juve... out of the frame totally... psg... nope.
Yeah - saw that and just thought What a **** piece of journalism Also had goal line technology not been around the league may have been very different too Crazy reporting ! I
theres a long string of what i'd call pissy whiney articles especially on bbc. To be running live text of a game from 30 years ago when arsenal scored in injury time to take league is... with respect to them low given that while its 30 years anniversary the circumstances of why the game was on when it was are obvious. silly silly stories like city would have won the quadruple is disrespecting spurs, never mind talking about us. there seems to be a genuinely irritated manc grouping in the media who just whine now.
Erm...no . The Barca team he inherited and played in his first year had what became the worlds best midfield, the worlds best footballer and 3/4 of the spIn team that won the World Cup! Take a look at his squad in year one to Klopp’s squad. It’s crazy what Klopp has done. Pep is world class for sure but he didn’t inherit a show of sh*t - not by a country mile.
He still added several players and won a treble... including 2 youths. for barca they had to get rid of players and bring a new set up in. its all relative mate. my point is more he's done his thing everywhere he's gone cos he's had the profile as a result of that first year. he doesn't need to do a klopp. Frankly for me it's a case that you can say what would he do but at this point his next job will be a move to juve or psg and be in dominant position again. Mourinho now is no longer in that place and he's going to have to pick his next job form the second teir and show what he could do all over again. why would you go risk your rep going in to some place needing a huge rebuild. mourinho tried it and now look at him after utd. a broken tired man with nobody offering him any new job.
I’m not blaming Pep. I agree with you, why would he risk all. But you cannot compare the squad he inherited at Barca to the squad Klopp inherited. I don’t think it’s relative at all. It’s chalk and cheese. The talent he inherited was obscene. Yes, he added to it in the right places but imo, he’s never built a squad from scratch. Ever.
Klopps inherited milner... 2 CL finals. Europa league final. in fact the only difference between messi and milner is who's studs are in who's legs.. Gaurdiola had to get shut of many players he didn't like. So did klopp. E'tto and benteke for example. klopp keeps saying the talent he's got and in inherited was huge
he tried his damnest to get rid of him but couldn't due to wages. he did do well now you've pointed it out. I've gone back and looked. clearly pep is just a **** manager so.
