Well there hasn't been much joy for him. 1973's FA Cup win over Leeds United was the last time Sunderland won at Wembley, with seven defeats since.

George was there for them all and is unsurprisingly hard to stop when asked to recall his memories of '73. The following six don't bring such good memories, but gasps of horror, regret and sadness.

Though their last win there had myself, and the rest of the country, right behind them.

They had just been there the other week. And a few times in recent years. Novelty must have worn off. Or is that our excuse?

Anyway, at least they would have missed the 119th minute winner, as they leave well before the end.

Of course no one ever leaves a City game early, not even when they are beating Liverpool for the first time, instead of applauding them off.

Every club has fans that leave early.

Just not as early as Sunderland fans do.

I know some who left Brentford at half time. In fact you know some of them.

Say what you like about our fans, we don't have Edna Lard types who expose their white flabby cellulite-mottled buttocks in Trafalgar Square fountains

Did you follow a career trajectory which included writing erotic fiction at any point?

As she made her way through the babbling fountain, her sinewy thighs immersed in the waters, she became aware she was not alone and that hungry eyes were feasting greedily on her voluptuous curves.

Stripped down now to her scanties, her generous breasts barely held in check by her inadequate bra, she decided to teach the watching men a lesson. Turning her back to them, she bent over slightly and slowly and deliberately peeled her skimpy panties down to reveal her curvaceous backside, tormenting hungry eyes with her animal grace and erotic magnetism.

At a guess, and despite them being there the other week, more for a League One play off than we did for a Championship Play off.
