Sorry to say no matter how you look at it......the country is still divided over the issue..........You can argue the remain people have a majority 2/3% perhaps. However it should be remembered that the out party had a 4% majority at the referendum. The remain party argued and still does that a 4% margin is not enough justification to be taken into account. So my question is what kind of majority will either side accept now in either direction?........Incidentally if labour changed their stance now surely that would almost destroy them? The referendum vote just cannot be ignored? So it looks to me like a change in law is needed then another referendum with say a 10% (only mentioning a figure) majority?? Probably the remain party might swing that...but would the country then still be divided? Perhaps the sensible answer would be for the EU to approach us and see if their rules can be changed a little As others seem to be flaunting some of them why not us. We are after all an Island with limited land availability.............
Change course? We currently don't have one. It's still a hell of a lot easier to remain than leave. So it's still on Brexit parties to redefine their arguments for a change of course as 7m voted to stay last night.
That's a good graph, in my opinion. Undoubtedly, the single issue Brexit party will crow about its presence in the vote. But as I went to vote last Thursday, I realised that the Non-Brexit vote would be fragmented, even if the numbers would end up greater. I was deciding whether to vote Green or Lib Dem, and there must have been a few million voters like me. Tories and Labour have done themselves no favours whatsoever. Tories are imbeciles, and Labour unfortunately lack true leadership. The opinion that I keep arriving at is that Jeremy Corbyn is a good leader of a protest. But a poor leader of a party.
In truth TSS there isn't much between Lab and the Tories........If labour were to turn now and vote remain the people would accuse them of just vote catching rather than what's best for the country..........No easy answer. Lets just sack the lot and have a new batch either or and see what happens with no current mp allowed to stand..........Ok thats wishful thinking but wouldn't it me nice..........but we'd still be in the ****.......
I was going to say that myself, but stopped short. Because really, I think the Tory party are in complete disarray. I don't think they know what they stand for anymore. Dangerous when they are choosing a new PM for the country.
You can say that again.........Everyone knows I'm a Brexiteer .....But I had no idea when voting it would cause this much of a problem. I also have to say that I feared we would lose the vote.......I do have sympathy though that say the majority was a bit low...........
No Beddy, the argument is that it isn't enough for a major constitutional change. Any majority is enough for no change. The inititiative rests with the changers to get a clear majority, which Cameron very stupidly set at 1 ... vote that is (Imagine the recounts if that had happened)
You've seen the candidates, who on earth would you choose out of that lot? Gove, because he might actually carry through his promise of a wide-reaching Environmental Policy? (unlikely) Anyone that isn't Boris because, well, they aren't Boris (definitely true) That's all I've got and it isn't much
No mate all that voted have to take the blame! However we went against what the main parties wanted. So either they accept the original referendum. Or they declare it null and void. Another muddle we have got ourselves in.
MPwise Labour are a tiny and small minority, Tories are a larger and noisier minority Labour seem to have always been running scared of alienating Labour Brexit voters, but they should act as according to their beliefs as its got to be better than where they are now

The divide amongst the Labour Party is just as strong. Can Corbyn be challenged again or will he have to resign? Only his resignation and a move from the far left would give Labour credible change to remain.
In my opinión this would be the best course of action for the Conservatives to take. To turn their back on "Leave" and take on the responsibility of the UK enjoying a better and full discourse with our closest allies of the 21st century, the French and Germans, and all our other EU partners.
Oh yeah, I accept the divide might be as great in the Labour Party. They are the 'broad church' as they trot out occasionally, and that doesn't help with unity. What's people's opinion of Tom Watson? I think he is capable. I know this is a dirty thought, but Tony Blair and Gordon Brown famously pulled the Labour party to the centre and eventually won by a relative landslide, and their New Labour party was totally committed to the EU. To extend that thought, I suspect a successful modern version of that party would have taken the UK through the last decade, since the banks crash of 2008, and wouldn't have stamped all over the working class with austerity. A referendum wouldn't have been offered nor demanded. As I've said before, this is total Tory government f*** up.
