London result is..... Lib Dems won! Labour 2nd and Brexit 3rd. Lib Dems 3 seats Labour 2 seats Brexit party 2 seats
Brexit party will obviously do well and probably will win overall. However I am sure the remainers will spin off some stats to suggest they won, like if you add up the Lib Dems, Greens and Change UK together they beat Brexit
West Midlands result in... Brexit party won stuffing everyone with 38% of the votes! They got 3 MEP seats.
I've been pretty fair on all this I think, happy to concede that the Brexit Party will smash it today. But I don't think doing what you've said is ridiculous? If you're a leaver you have one party to vote for. If you're a remainer, it's spread out more. Adding up Lib Dems Greens and Change is a fair thing to do imo. Not that it will matter anyway as they still probably won't win, but I just mean for arguments sake.
Leave: Brexit and UKIP vs Remain: Lib Dems, Greens and Change. Labour and Tories don't know what they want hence they are both getting smashed. I don't know why Change has bothered to set up a new party as they knew they would split the remainer votes. Why didn't they just join the Lib Dems? But to answer your question, no its not ridiculous. You don't add up different parties to make an argument that remain won overall. Remainers should have arranged to join forces if they wanted to add it up together.
Not to say they won overall no, but as a general indicator, of course you can. Why would that be in any way daft? At least using the leave and remain examples you used at the start of your post.
35 of 73 in at the moment and Brexit have 15 they could go through to have 30 or 31 seats.. amazing if they could get 37 ..lol but not really feasible
South West is in.... Brexit smashed it! Over 225k more votes than 2nd place! Brexit got 3 MEP seats after getting 37% of the votes.
My point stands. The more parties who all want the same thing then it will split votes. Should work together not separately. Its their own fault.
East Midlands results are in.... 38% of votes go to Brexit party to take the win. Another 3 MEP seats.
