His tactics are ok on the whole but he wasn't too good today. He should have changed to three in CM earlier in the game but at least he admitted his mistake in the post match interview. If he hadn't realised his mistake I would be worried about his abilities right now.

In all honesty tonight Ryan Taylor was very poor defensively but I think STILL the main weak point in our defence is Danny Simpson, the bloke is absolutely useless, the amount of times Steven Taylor had to bail him out tonight was ludicrous.

I'm on the fence as to whether Pardew is good tactically or not, we do look a more disciplined unit than I'm used to and everyone seems to know their jobs (doesnt mean theyre good enough to do it like) and tonight he made the right substitutions just at the wrong times.

I just dont understand why Shola keeps getting starts... hopefully he wont start the next game.

Surely you must admit that Simpson had a good game today though, he was our best player by far. Most of our lads had **** days at the office but Simpson put in some good challenges today, far better than usual.

To be fair we have had Souness, Kinnear and Keegan hardly world renowned tacticans... Id say Hughton was arguably better.

    Whos Iggy bin? Im confused.

3 Strikers? 4 attacking midfielders? 3 attack minded defenders? CHAAAAARGE.

    That's a tactic surely!

I'm not a big fan of Pardew but at the end of the day, rather than calling him tactically inept, I'd prefer to say he has had to put a team onto the pitch lacking the quality needed for this league thanks to the people responsible for player sales and aquisitions. Were there really any other options? Well, apart from playing anbody ahead of Fameobi up front (that one reaks of ineptness). Santon is 20 years old and a right back, to put him in at the deep end at left back in the Prem for me is the wrong option. Yes, he can play there, we know he can as Mourinho did for Inter, but the lad is looking to come back from a confidence grinder at Inter which saw him loaned out. What we should do for the good of his progression and undoubted talent is give him the best oportunity by playing him in probably the hardest league in his natural position!

Got it wrong tonight but all managers do that. I believe Shola is a liability we can ill afford. My only criticism is how long it seemed to take to sink in and change things. My view is we've got away with one tonight (at least Dick Turpin wore a mask). You thank your lucky stars because you won't always get the rub of the green. I felt comfortable with Bothroyd, he just didn't convince he was ever gonna actually commit early and get on the end of one. Happy with a point and a clean sheet, onto the next one. I'd play Sammi or Marveaux off Best. The difference would be huge. Maybe Best could last 90mins too after not having to do Shola's running!

Edit: Of course Tiote would have actually had to stop giving them ball too. He killed us. Not sure what's wrong but had a shocking start by his high standards

Tonight it was blatantly obvious that we were being outplayed in CM by their 3 players (I shouted it numerous times to the tv as early as 20mins into the game) yet he waited until the 80th minute to make the change to three. Then stated in the post match interview that it was what he should have done earlier. Why if he knows what he did wrong did he decide to wait until then?

Sorry but he dropped a clanger tonight. Hopefully he learns from it and gets it right next time.

Is that a serious comment? :S

I thought he was the worst player on the pitch, he was constantly caught out and had to be bailed out by Saylor so many times I lost count, he lost the ball frequently and failed to clear his lines. Most of QPR's attacks were focused on Raylors side aswell, if they had focused on Simpsons side it might have been a cricket score.

Deadly serious. I've seen quite a few people say the same too. He had a far better game today than he usually does and coped with Taarabt well considering he's usually pretty crap. When Barton switched over to that side for a while he skinned him a few times too. I rarely say it but I was impressed with Simpson, despite the fact that overall we were crap.

This, apart from considering giving a place to Marveaux ahead of Sameobi. From what I've seen of Sameobi he looks better than what we have up front so far this season and deserves a chance. Not impressed with what I've seen so far with Marv but other positions which are not being filled with confidence will no doubt give him a chance to stake his claim and hopefully show us what he can do? EDIT - by that I mean our wingers!

i did say my iggy bin be confused no more

raylor was **** as he kept getting dragged inside to cover colo who was trying to do his job and tiotes/cabayes we had no steel in midfield.Tiote has been piss poor all season the thing i think pardew should have done was went with 5 in midfield after half time and should play this formation all the time with one up front between best and Ba

Totally agree, thought Simmo was good tonight. I,personally, can't see a fault in Pards so far,he admitted he left it too late to make a change in the midfield numbers but obvioulsy thought the 4 would break through at some point!!! Thats my opinion!!
