This! Dispatches is aload of ****e though. I saw the article this morning, posted on here. And, I couldnt have given a ****. So what? A player has taken drugs. Im sorry, but this whole "he's a rolemodel" m'larky is bullshit.

Its Garry O'Connor for godsake, its not like an aspiring footballer is gonna look up to him. Jesus wept.

    Cheap scandal.

Least the Beeb can actual start a decent crisis within football

I guess they may consider it big money to the some of public (to draw the audience who aren't necessarily interested in footy) with it being on dispatches on channel 4. The average person would agree that £4.3 million is a lot of money- but we all know that's practically nothing when you look at the 'big money' transfers we have today in football.

Don't get wrong, Anti-climax! I recorded it but might just give it a miss now...

I thought when they said recent and big money it would be someone like Carroll, Downing or Young who have been transferred for big money this year.

I suspected it to be someone like Gary O'Connor. I think had it been Caroll/Young/Downing it would have been plastered all over the news weeks ago like the Ryan Giggs scandal

I didn't think any Newcastle fans would have watched it, with us playing at the same time.

just read in the independent that 29 PL players tested positive for cocaine use between 2003 and 2009 but that they didn't have to release there names under the rules. anybody find it a bit suspect that the likes of carroll and gerrard have had long periods of 'injury layoff' that seem a bit skewed? carroll had a thigh strain that was meant to keep him out a few weeks only to have it keep him out for 2months. apparently they issue bans but cover it up as an injury. as is the case with o'connor. they said he had a long standing hip problem and that he needed an op.
