I enjoyed the film thought it was very well done. That scene is my fav though and I believe she has done the stage shows which tells.
If I put my finger on it I think it's because Crowe's role is underdone imo. I don't think it's down to him, more the script. The realisation in his character at the end wasn't strong enough. Otherwise it's good which is why I'm undecided
The mrs came home steaming drunk from the pub last night,. "You up for some role play action babe?" she asked with a wink. "Not really" I replied ~Oh come on, we can act out ANY scene from ANY film you want" Walking over to her with with a huge smile on my face I saw her expression change. She had realised her mistake, but it was too late. Where I had previously seen arousal in her eyes, I now only saw blind terror As I shouted "THIS.... IS...SPARTA" and booted her down the stairs
Can't argue with that his role was glaringly underplayed and it affected the overall story but not so much as to spoil the overall film.
I think someone put this up the other day, but w/e, it's one of the best scenes from one of my favourite films.
I don't understand the point of trying to remake fairly modern, successful films, especially when they're masterpieces like DRS. Glad they've remade Catch-22 though, it's one of my favourite books, ****ing hilarious, but when I saw the film it was utter dog-**** and didn't raise a smile.
Read this whole ****ing thread to find no one else has mentioned it. Anyway, opening scene of Gladiator, leading to the battle with the German tribes. Epic. Can't be arsed to post a link though.
Completely agree on both counts. I thought the Catch 22 film was a bit too surreal and melancholy and disjointed. The new one looked well made from what I can see.
We did that on purpose to make you read it all That is a brilliant scene though. Proper no guts no glory down in the dirt battle scene.
