    You're liable for any mistakes he makes tomorrow due to lack of sleep.

    Getting back on topic. I fail to see the logic in starting a returning injured player on the bench. If you bring them on, and they get a twinge or stiffness, then you have wasted a substitution, and you need to make another. Would it not be better to start Gerrard, and then if he runs out of steam, he is replaced? Or better still, give him 2 to 3 matches in the reserves to make sure he is fit to play, rather than sticking him on the bench untested.

    Just a nerdy point.

    You are not an officando of blues, R&B, swing, and early rock and roll - the majority of which was recorded on 78s

    Or the compilation discs released by Deutsche Grammophon of the Berlin Philharmonic in the early 1930's which were recorded at 16.66

    BTW Garrad did produce both individual needles and 'heads' to play these.

    Yeah, but I reckon you'll find kaos pads everywhere soon. Much easier to transport and more creative than standard decks.

    If you buy into the "pace of life is faster now" myth then the unit you show is already a relic of history!

    Now digital music may have many advantages (storage/transport etc) it still cannot match 'warmth' of analogue recordings. There is even an argument for the advantages of mono recording.

    Foredeckdave, re your KAOS PAD image:

    (1) I'm sure if you get the lights working in the right sequence you could get it to display a 1970s Space Invader.

    (2) The light screen looks like something an old TV sci-fi series might have to make their equipment look 'futuristic'. Of course it would be blinking out of sequence for no particular reason. (There was a joke to that effect in Airplane 2 about lights that don't seem to do anything delivered by William Shatner.)

    Careful there! You'll be classified as a relic by making references to old films like Airplane 2<rofl>

    ok guys... help me out here....

    you're talking stuff i don't know much about BUT... I've basically sponsored a couple of young lads in the family to get off thier behinds and do something. They are 19 and i got a basical starter set of amps and deck for them and they basically bang out tunes they download via lap top.

    what should i suggest these lads to do make a go of this while the are sitting about cos getting them to move is like getting everton to spend money....

    areas of advice such as;

    where to get gigs.
    how to advertise most effectively
    what sort of basic kit should i get to help them stand out from the crowd... lights and such?
