We weren't playing the midfield we should of been, we should never play a 4-4-2 when we don't have the strikers to fill it.
Probably referring to his time wasting with the goal kicks. He was getting a load of boo's from the crowd during the game. To be fair he was over doing it a bit so I can understand their point.
Pre-Fernandez we were going down with a record all time low number of points. That 4-0 tonking by Bolton on the opening day was going to be a regular occurrence. At least now we have a fighting chance.
krul got on the fans nerve quite a lot, every single goal kick in the 2nd half he took eternity to take, how he didn't get a booking i dont know, especially with the whole crowd shouting at him, the ref made a couiple of absolutely ******ed mistakes, it was so obvious, one time someone shot and the goalkeeper hit it wide and he gave a goal-kick, they then replayed it on the big screen, zommed in on the goalie saving it
Just watched a thumping game of football tonight. What I call a match and I ain't seen one like that for ages. Yes, neither team what at their best and yes, errors were made on and off the pitch. That'll always be the case one way or another but despite the lack of goals, all those players gave value for money tonight. Loftus Road was electric, the Rs fans got the show they deserve and the Toon fans were mega as always.
oh and also, ive said this since the start of last season, faurlin is our best player, i may sound like im over-exaggerating but he could do a job for some top sides, maybe not the manchester sides but i reckon teams like arsenal etc he'd slot in fine
Completly agree with most of the points about Faurlin. I'll be honest and say I've never seen him play before tonight but he really impressed me. Good tackler, excellent passer. He seems to keep you ticking over. A quick word for Derry aswell. Really though he would be your weak link tonight but he did what he had to do quite effectively. I was really impressed with you guys tonight and you will cause teams trouble in this league. You may find you pick up more points away from home than you do at Loftus Road. You could be a very good counter attacking side with the pace of SWP, and the guile of Taarabt. DJ Campbell on his own upfront away from home could also serve you well. Anyways good luck this season!
Also, can I just say I'm glad we've all stuck to the appropriate thread and there's not been any form of board invasion tonight Made my job very easy so I could worry about the match more
Yes, I've just read them myself, I'm now worried about my eyesight and will have a test next week. Look, no sour grapes at all and hope I didn't come accross that way, QPR should have won and we were lucky Boothroyd was your only striker. I noticed Faulin early on as he started well bet can't remember seing him or hearing his name much after about 20 mins. Maybe I was just trying to consentrate on trying in vain to find positives from our players tonight which made me miss things??? Who knows but I certainly noticed the rest of your midfield look better than ours. Anyway, if both teams can sign a striker of quality in January then both will be safe from a relegation battle this season.
Real pleasure to have decent knowledgeable fans from Newcastle here. So unlike that lot from down the road... You lot get Sunderland, we get Chelsea, 'nuff said. Great game, midfield was very impressive but Bothroyd and Campbell worry me. Thank god Newcastle had 'Dave' playing up front wearing a shirt with Ameobi written on it!
Looking forward to seeing QPR come to St James', hopefully Pardew has pulled his finger out by then tactics wise.
Cheers nufc1991, I said it earlier in this thread that it's great to have some decent banter, unlike last season! I'm going to have to go up for the return fixture. good luck for the rest of the season.
I haven't read the last 4 pages, first: Tiote Who? Obertan as good as Taraabt? Tim "cheating" Krull as good as Kenny? You guys were lucky to scrape anything from that game, it seems our "mediocre" signings aren't quite as bad as suggested? Feel grateful you caught us before the team had chance to gell ps. love you guys really!
Also like to add that QPR gave the best London atmosphere I've seen in a while, played a big part in your win. I think our players have kind of took our following for granted.
You're a BIG man to come back on that.... cheers Geordius Good luck for the rest of the season and thanks to all Geordie fans for the great banter... mostly sensible stuff from both sides !!!!!
Just my tupence but all of us watching at my house called 0-0 at 20 mins unless someone made a big mistake. Newcastle didn't do enough to win but QPR never seamed to know what to do with the ball in the box, even the balls off the line didn't give the "OMG we're going to let one in" that summed up a lot of the draws from wining positions last year.
