With Roofe and Bamford and us only playing one up front we’d need to shift one of those on first, I can’t see Bamford going anywhere and a £8m man on the bench is a luxury we can’t afford. Pretty much my same feeling with Pablo, ideal as an impact sub but then there will be calls to start with him putting pressure on his replacement, if Pablo can’t start every game is it time to move him on?

    Full transcript:

Derby County and FFP, Spygate, Bielsa's future - Andrea Radrizzani full transcript
The Leeds United chairman gave an interview on talkSPORT on Thursday morning

Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has followed up his comments over Derby County's use of an EFL loophole to dodge FFP sanctions on Wednesday with a brief interview on talkSPORT where the issue again came up.

Talking to the Jim White Show , the Italian said that he does not believe the move to be 'ethically correct' and ruled out Leeds United pulling a similar stunt, before discussing the Spygate saga, his longer-term future at the club and giving an update on the talks with Marcelo Bielsa over the Elland Road head coach's future.

Here is the full transcript from Radrizzani's chat with the station.

Jim White kicked off with asking him about Derby's sale of their Pride Park ground in order to dodge any FFP sanctions:
"I think to whether a shortcut to go around the financial fair play regulation is not ethically correct. It might be correct and allowed by the rules according to what had been reported by the chairmen of the league but at the same time it's not ethically correct. Because I was fined for sending in February a scout, a coach to watch a training session at Derby County. I think this is also not ethically correct as well or even more. So I let the people judge."

So you're are saying Derby County's sale of the stadium was not ethically correct, but also admitting spying was not ethically correct?
"The fact was we paid the fine because it wasn't ethically correct according to the FA and EFL."

Some people would say you're having a go at Derby because of Spygate?
"No, no. I congratulated their players at Elland Road last week for achieving the final at Wembley. We can just congratulate them. What happens on the pitch stays on the pitch. If the club is called Derby or any other name, Sheffield, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough or Leeds United, it doesn't matter, they all need to be clear in what they're allowed to do. Not every team is able to sell the stadium to a sister company or the sponsors on the shirt to a sister company. If this is possible fine, but then we need to know some teams are penalised by the fact that they cannot do the same activity."

Mel Morris says you're doing this because you're hurting?
"Like every Leeds fan I'm disappointed because we were top of the league for most of the season until Easter time, but I hope this will be a lesson for us, for our players, to try and put the fire in their hearts and come back with the spirit, the desire, the willing to win the league next year, so I'm looking forward to next year, I'm already motivated. But no it wasn't that we had limitations from the financial fair play, because we cannot sell the stadium to another sister company, even if we could, I wouldn't do it because of ethics."

A lot of talk of ethics - have you learned a lot since you were here?
"I'm learning, yeah. There are rules and values that we should take on and I think that what we have done with the scout, even if he was coming from a different culture, what we have done sending the scouts to most of the opponents teams to watch the training is potentially not correct and not ethically correct, so we payed the price for it and i think it was fair."

Are you staying with the club? There is talk that you could be selling up after missing out on the Premier League?
"No, I'm here, I hope that we get there one day and I'm here until that day because I really want to enjoy that moment with the fans. "

So, you're staying until that day?
“I start to play when I go up. At the moment I’m just observing football.
    "Hopefully it will be soon."

Will Marcelo Bielsa be staying next season?
"I can say we have a chance to keep him. We will see. The next few days will be decisive and we’ll make an announcement. We’ll see in the next few days. "We have an option until the end of the month, we’re talking to him and we have a few things to clarify. Then, after, we’ll make public our decision.”

Are you optimistic that you will keep him?
"I said we will make our decision public soon."

TBH, if promoted, Leeds could put out a NOT606 team against the likes of Manc, and the scoreline would be similar. Double figures would be a foregone conclusion. That's how big the gulf is, and a large part of me is quite happy that we didn't go up. I've got at least another year of enjoying my football before the nightmare begins.

An Arsenal supporting mate said to me recently when I said same as you WJ, that Leeds had knocked all of the ambition out of me down they years. Reading posts of lifelong supporters happy not to get promoted, kind of proves his point. Im one of them as I say :(

You, WJ and the rest of us will be over the moon if we ever got promoted but I kind of get whet you mean about the PL. My son is an Arsenal supporter and he's said to me he has far enjoyed watching our promotion attempt than their season as it became obvious early on they were never going to be in the title race. The Arsenal owner wants to run the club on income generated and you can't compete like that anymore. He isn't even fussed about the Europa league as he thinks the owner only wants it for the additional money he gets from Champions League, no interest in building a team to win that competition. I've outed him as closet Leeds fan to his friends so currently he's not talking to me <laugh>

I think I'm still ambitious, but more realistic in my outlook than most, I think.

People forget that we've already made quite a leap. We've finished 3rd, the best finish in donkey's years. We've played some exhilarating football, the club's finances are on a sounder basis than they've ever been in the Championship, we own our stadium again, and the club has restructured magnificently, particularly in all things Thorp Arch. We now think of ourselves as genuine contenders, and look forward to future years with lots of internal promotions to the 1st team squad - by merit rather than being desperate. Pretty much in 1 year too, and given the shoddy foundations Radz inherited, it's been nothing short of a miracle.

We're stronger in every department, but that doesn't mean to say that we're ready to hold our own, does it? If we got promoted this season, it would have been by the skin of our teeth. Hardly the ideal preparation. I'd be happy if we took 2-3 years to build a side for the future, built on hunger, legs & skill from the u23s, & a few quality old heads.

It's not optimism, I've realised. Or giving in. I've fallen in love with football again & I can't begin to describe how good it makes me feel.

Well its a great start. Clarke bursts through from u23's, plays about a dozen games and hes off to Spurs apparently. Is anyone going to seriously tell me the netter u23's will stay around long enough to see us promoted. Like hell, the agents will have them in the shop window as soon as they play a half season with the senior side. Then our ambitious fans glory in the 10m the club gets. Well never get up if we cant get three or four seasons from the good ones that make it

And Ian Harte pocketing 15% of the transfer fee and weekly wages. How do you get to be a football agent?

Well, I foolishly thought they'd be able to do it without me. Thought I'd done enough to see us get there. But there you go, they obviously still depend on me. I guess it's because no-one else can consistently roar disgusting abuse with the same volume & bile that I can. I suppose I must make them find those extra couple of performance percentage points that make them winners. <whistle>

Am I the only one who finds Rads comments regarding Bielsa strange? He is making it sound like it will be Leeds decision on if Bielsa stays or goes?

I don’t like that he didn’t say we’re going to do everything possible to keep him.

I have to admit be it lack of transfers, a new coach or selling some of our prized assets I’m setting myself for a disappointment

I'm reading it as Bielsa being keen to stay, but it's up to the club if they can meet his requirements, like war chest etc. I get the feeling that they can't, so future negotiations will simply be Radz begging.
