And milking it for all its worth. But I suspect it has left sour taste in someone´s mouth.

Reassuringly democratic that a political party can invite who they want to one of their events and there are no restrictions on what Channel 4 can report. No court orders trying to silence the press. Everyone wins.

You mean he would have been appalled that the application/interpretation
of his ideology in less than a century resulted in a fatality count at least
in the 10s of millions (possibly close to 100) .

But then, the claim is always that the perpetrators were not doing "real"
< insert your political ideology here > . Perhaps after N attempts they
should be asking whether they ever can (or is there some "high
watermark" fatality count threshold - yet to be reached - that must be
    passed before they do) .

The question is whether if she has done some shady deal with a huge
financial payoff agreed, if she effs things up so badly that a reasonable
exit from the EU cannot be achieved.

She was supposed to, but she let Chris Grayling handle the details...

Sadly, they couldn't bail out British Steel even if they wanted to. EU law prohibits it.

It would be unlawful state aid.
But Brexit killed the company. Orders have dried up because of the uncertainty over leaving and what tariffs will be applied. The weakness of sterling post 2016 referendum has also been a factor.
This is a recurring theme now. The great opportunity to trade without the shackles of EU membership is proving to be a myth. Overseas buyers are running scared of the UK, not embracing new opportunities for trade.

The steel industry in this country has been on it's knees for decades. China for one, is manufacturing steel at rock bottom rates which has made being competitive almost impossible.

Tata Steel (as it was previously known) was already failing years ago and was bought out by Greybull for a quid in April 2016 - pre-referendum. They pumped close to £150m into the business but it still wasn't enough. Incidentally, Greybull doesn't have the best track record of turning failing businesses around:

    My Local - gone
    Comet - gone
    Rileys - gone
    Monarch - gone

Brexit - the convenient excuse when things goes belly up.

Their dumping of excess capacity onto the global markets at stupid prices
has been a disgrace (laughable given their govt should know what the
ball-park domestic/global demands are - and throttle production accordingly) .

But as with everything else in life, if "playing by the rules" becomes a one-way
street, then be prepared for getting smashed off the road if you are the one
    playing.

Sadly it has gone quantity not quality. Good British steel drill casing could last a good driller his whole career if he looked after it. I know drillers who complain chinese drill casing sometime only last a couple of months before the threads go. Disposable sh!te, how green is that NOT.

It is sad that the EU didn't have the balls to stand up to the chinese like Trump has done. Most of us do not like Trump, as many did not like Thatcher, but at least they didn't shy away from a fight.

As we are leaving anyhow, why not take the Italian route and ignore the rules that we don't like? What are they going to do, throw us out?

    That's an outright lie
    https://www.theguardian.com/politic...-triple-state-aid-for-industry-under-eu-rules

On the subject of lies, it's good to see Led By Donkeys have the right wing rattled if Guido blog is having to come up with some utterly moronic claim that they're violating Electoral Commission spending rules...even though, as anybody capable of thought would point out, as they are not standing in any election they clearly are not
Add to that George Osborne happily sealing their fate back in 2016 when signing that trade deal with China to get lots of nice, cheap Chinese steel

In other words, the Tories killed them before the referendum took place
