Aye. There is many a tea out there. From the way the morrocans make it, to Chinese stuff to the samavah method in Iran No **** puts milk in first ffs
Cafe owners who say “shall I leave the tea bag in?” No, make me a proper cup of tea, you plum. It’s what I’m ****ing paying you for.
I find that a bit rude. Even if you’ve got a bit of work to do or whatever there’s no harm in a bit of small talk and the driver should get the vibe that you aren’t in chatty mood even if he is.
@Skylarker This is on the campus. The STV is on the other side of the road at the top of the pic, the hole was a green space when you were there I guess. Thought you'd interested. Or not! View attachment 117067
Fuxakes, didn’t you have an auntie or something to teach you this stuff? First, warm the pot. That’s right, the teapot, please tell me you have one of those? Good, then add one heaped teaspoon of loose leaf tea per person, and one for the pot. Add the boiling water (it has to be boiling), stir once and once only, put the tea cosy on, leave to stand for 5 minutes (slightly less for more delicate teas like Earl Grey or Russian Caravan etc). The cup should also be warmed. Pour in the tea - never, ever put the milk in first - milk and sugar to taste, and Bob’s-your-mother’s-live-in-lover.
Making a one cup brew; Get your cup and fill with hot water. Boil kettle. As kettle comes to the boil empty hot water from the cup and add a PG tips bag. Pour boiling water over tea bag. Stir and leave for three or four minutes. Stir again to check if properly brewed. Squeeze tea bag out. Add a splash of skimmed milk. Stir and drink. It should be at least digestive biscuit brown, no lighter.
Yeah, since last August. We complete this July. It's a great place, got a really nice feel to it. I'd suggest for my kids, it's got a very good civil engineering faculty, but I think it's on the expensive side now. Can't have my retirement fund plundered too much!
My tea making ritual. 1) Start boiling kettle 2) Take old teabag out of cup and pour the remnant drips from last cup into the Peace Lily. 3) Forget about kettle as I get distracted by work for 30 minutes and then start it boiling again. 4) Pour boiling water over teabag. Don't bother about crap like milk 99% of the time and never ruin tea with sugar. 5) Either: a: drink tea too soon and burn my throat with the not strong enough tea or. b: forget about tea until it's too strong, bitter, lukewarm, etc and objectingly chug it. 6) go back to step 1.
****ing adverts... I listen to podcasts but nowadays it's ****ing adverts every 10 minutes... TV, radio, you just can't listen or watch anything un-interrupted anymore. American TV must be a nightmare @Milk Istanbarca
