Politicians who lied through their teeth? Noone lied more than Farage who before the Referendum was amazed that anyone could see anything wrong with the single market and the arrangement Norway have. Now as you say it's a tin with a label, but one empty of content as the many various versions of Brexit have all been tasted but spat out during the last 3 years.
Spat out by 650 MPs that arrogantly know better than 17.4 million voters. Stan is correct about the divisions in this country, but I would argue that many of these divisions would have long since dissipated had our parliament gritted it’s teeth and got on with it. With a greater proportion of MPs staunch ‘remainers’ is it any surprise that proposal after proposal would be rejected?
Project Fear Smear Cult It’s easy to do ‘remainer’ facts because we’re in the EU. We don’t know what it’ll be like outside the EU. I can understand fear of the unknown and ‘better the devil you know’ stuff, what why can’t many ‘remainers’ respect the Brexiteer position? There are enough out & out ****s on both sides of this, so please let’s not make the mistake of tarring everybody with the same brush just because we want to leave the EU.
I wouldn’t want to tar you, mate, and sorry if I did. But people like Col have become religious fanatics over this like some nutter on Oxford Street declaring his god the one true god.
We’re way beyond that now. Anyway, the snowflakes find an insult in any post so might as well call them out.
The Tory Government with the paid off support of the DUP, and a mix of Brextiteers and support the resuilt of the Referendum cack, had / still have a majority in the Commons. Nobody's fault but their own that after 3 years they haven't found a way of delivering Brexit. The Opposition has in the main opposed them, as they should do with nearly 17 million of voters voting remain.
Indeed. May’s made an absolute hash of it with her hard and frankly borderline xenophobic rhetoric to play up to the fruitcakes in her party. If she’d gone for the fudge Brexit from the start we’d probably be well out by now and people would be celebrating with a Vindaloo and Aldi sparkling wine.
You actually believe this tosh, don’t you? Had the referendum result been 52-48 in favour of remaining in the EU, can you hand-on-heart say that you wouldn’t be taking the stance that ‘leavers’ are now taking?
It's the EU elections, Brexiteers are voting for what they want, what part of that simple equation don't you understand? All politicians are liars, so what's the difference? Feigned indignation in this context is laughable...
My only opinion on all this is that the whole thing is such a mess and I agree with Stan, the only possible outcome is a no deal. Not only are the good people in the UK sick of the whole bloody thing, the people in the rest of the EU are also sick of it. Give Boris, Farage and Rhys-Mogg the no deal they so desperately want and let them claim ownership of the consequences when thousands lose their jobs. Having EU elections in the UK at this stage is so ridiculous. Especially if the Brexit party do as well as the polls predict. One Farage in the parliament is enough without having scores more who think along the same lines. Time for the EU to pull the plug now and say enough is enough, declare a no deal, end all the division and we all move on as friends. Just my opinion.
Leaving all the faction fighting aside, this is good sense. It looks like the EU will have their hands full dealing with populist parties in the Parliament after next week. They don't need Brexit negativity in addition. Clean break and build a new and positive relationship.
Vote for Corbyn? A lying racist, anti-semite. Yet he is feted by the left as the new Messiah. Politics is a cesspit, always has been, always will be...
I don’t get this at all. Chuck the whole thing in the bin. We voted, albeit in an incredibly flawed referendum which if it hadn’t been advisory would’ve been declared void, to leave, agreed a deal and couldn’t get a consensus on anything at all in parliament. The default in that case should be to **** the whole thing off and risk being pelted with Murray Mints, IMO. Col to confirm.
I don't think Corbyn is that, his anti-Israel stance is correct for me because of its treatment of its neighbours. But I wouldn't vote for Corbyn because he has not taken opportunities to at least postpone this Brexit bollox. His continued ambiguity on a 2nd Referendum looks to be costing Labour votes now in these EU elections with detailed larger polls showing Labour losing votes overall to LibDem, Green and Change. Votes he might not get all back in a General Election.
