WBA have until 6pm tomorrow to respond, he will be banned for three matches when proven guilty. Would have preferred to have taken something from the game but at least this will see him punished. Also the ref has been on talksport and apologised for not spotting the elbow. OTBC PC
good, and well done halsey for apologising. he had a bit of a mare yesterday but i think refs would gain so much more respect if they came out and gave reasons why they made decisions/apologise that they missed something.

I seem to recall that a couple of years ago Refs were going to speak to Sky after the game but it quickly folded - presumably too many ' how the hell can I explain that away' moments!!!
Well all i can say is the right decision will come from it, either way. hey ho i won't bleat on if the FA find him guilty. these things happen in football, I hope you boys will be so fore coming if the shoe is on the other foot later on in the season.
well technically its the wrong outcome guru, isn't it - we weren't given a penalty - so its the minimal that could have been done... but at least it IS being done!
Guru, I can honestly say that if one of our players smashes an elbow into an oponents face I hope they get sent off, and recieve a hefty fine from the club.
PC, If, and it's a big IF he admits the charge,only then will he get an automatic 3 match ban,cant see him doing that, it then has to be proved that the act was deliberate,again hard to prove as most players now raise their elbow when jumping for the ball. Personally i'm against trial by television,if the Ref. and his linesmen miss an incident during a game how can it be right that TV replays are used to highlight a foul and a player gets suspended, yet replays clearly show the ball had crossed the line in a game that may at the season mean relegation, yet the FA say well thats the rub of the green, and take no action,when the old bods at the FA watch a replay,clearly see a genuine goal,that the 4 highly paid officials missed, and 2 days later change the result of a game, thats the day i will agree with "trial by television", but it 'aint going to happen.

Glad Tamas has got banned the complete and utter ****piece hope he doesn't play for at least half the season. Halsey apologising is a good thing glad it's being noticed for once as the other decisions which have gone against us have been brushed underneath the carpet.
No monarch, you're totally wrong there. Tennis, Rugby and Cricket all have the benefit of technology to 'assist' the onfield arbiters - and so do ESPN and Sky Sports, with cameras in every corner of the ground. Mark Bowen and Andy Townsend in the studio saw it, called it, but they don't have the power to influence any injustice. Difference is football refs, who can be 50 yards away after a swift breakaway, don't have access to this "aid" so often get decisions wrong - badly wrong as per yesterday. I've heard people say 'it (technology/replays) would stop the flow and slow down the beautiful game'. Bull****, what's beautiful about seeing one of your players almost get decapitated - and the officials don't see anything wrong? Shame it wasn't Sepp Blatter getting elbowed and needing surgery, he may then get his overpaid cronies to see sense and change the archaic rulings. Sorry, mate, nothing personal - rant over. Northampton, think you'll find Tamas has been charged, not found guilty yet. As i said in an earlier posting, trial by television should work both ways, in other words, if Tamas is found guilty, then the referee should rightly have awarded City a penalty,foul in the box, penalty,red card, so will the FA order the players back on the pitch so that a penalty kick could be taken, of course they wont. BAN TRIAL BY TELEVISION.
To be honest, all this trial by tv is annoying me. In the good old days (pull up a sandbag you younsters and I'll tell you a story) football was a game or a sport, NOT a business as it is now. Mistakes were made by players and referees, but I really can't remember this much debate (apart from 1966 obviously). If there wasn't so much money, would football become a game again? Would every club be on a bit of a more even footing? Would it be more enjoyable? With all the money involved, it seems to me that only certain aspects can be acted on. All or nothing, and I mean all aspects of the game should be judged by the cameras. How long does it take for us viewers to see the incidents replayed a few times? By the time we have seen the incidents a few times, the cameras have swung back to the game, and the ref is still sorting things out, or trying to. So disrupting the flow, for me anyway, doesn't come into it.
Maestro, An easy solution would be that the 4th official sits in a little room with no distractions,if the ref misses a game changing decision it would only take a second to bring it to his attention via the mikes they all use now, if the ref and his linesmen can talk to each other,then why not bring in the 4th official for crucial decisions. Think you'll find City would have at least 3 more points by now.
