Morning all. Misty as the damp from the ground rises up. Getting warmer, so ideal growing conditions. I have more than enough to do, still better than having to watch daytime TV.
Two little grandkids here.. And still catching up with the fatigue from my jaunt last week Sent from my F8331 using Tapatalk
Morning all. A lovely clear blue sky, no wind and warm after overnight rain. Just watch that grass grow! Seems as if the two year experiment to reduce the speed limit from 90 kmh to 80 kmh on secondary roads has not been a success over here, and could be stopped. A number of departments refused to change all their speed cameras and signage, leading to some confusion. Yesterday on a trip to Limoges I went through four departments, and have no idea if any of them didn't impose the lower limit. The trial has shown to date that slower doesn't mean safer as so far there has been an increase in accident rates. The first three months of this year have seen a rise of 7.5%. So the national government is listening to the regions, and there is talk of it going back to the previous limit.
Some studies have shown that slower limits increase the rate of accidents, because cars are closer to each other as a result - but, there are fewer fatalities. Faster driving reduces the rate of accident but those that do happen are more serious.
I think that might be true, but also the frustration some drivers feel makes them take risks by overtaking in the wrong places. I wasn't clear, but the 7.5% increase was actually deaths on secondary roads.
Morning all. Lovely morning here, bright sunshine and warm. Been to check on my runner beans that I only sowed a few days ago, and already they are starting to appear above ground. We have been without power since 9.00 am for work on the lines, something we had a letter informing us would happen a couple of weeks ago. Forgot it was happening so wondered why the kettle didn't come on. Then realised that there was no internet, phones and even a mobile signal. 9.00 am to midday was the projected time for us to be without, but they finished by 10.30 am, so can have a coffee now.
I have been given the results of my biopsy, sadly the cancer is still present but not as widespread as it was and I start a new course of treatment involving heated chemo pumped round my bladder on Tuesday 25th June and the two following Tuesdays followed by another biopsy!
That sounds better Dave despite the further treatment. There are people that I know who have never had it totally cleared, but have had it kept under control for many years now. I hope that they can do the same for you, and before too long a total cure is found.
Yes keep positive Dave... My mum and stepdad both had it and outlived it... Sent from my F8331 using Tapatalk
Morning all. Overcast, but dry at present. The council workman have been round with their strimmers cutting the banks on the side of the lanes. The grass was very long, and they have left a right mess behind them.
