Some recent releases from one of my favourite record labels, Sub Pop... This lady has followed the exact opposite path to me, she was born in Hants and grew up in Devon....
The Verve have got some nerve. Now everyone's happy they didn't copy this copy of the Stones The Last Dance. What do you think?
At the time my sympathy was with the Verve as it was portrayed as opportunist nit picking by the Oldham estate. I thought then it was just the orchestral intro they'd nicked. Of course listening later I understood they'd nicked the whole ruddy tune !
The Land of Make Believe from Seventh Sojourn. A little bit of beauty from The Moody Blues amongst the crap:
This is an absolute beauty!!! You can almost visualise the beautiful sandy beaches of Indonesia, where this artist comes from.
Hey, I've found another Led Zeppelin track. I have, honest to goodness, never heard this one before. OK, it's not quite Led Zeppelin either. It's Band of Joy, who I have to admit, I only vaguely knew about. Featuring original band member 18-19 year old Robert Plant and John Bonham. Their rendition of Hey Joe: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Band_of_Joy
Was thinking about going to see Rocketman, after reading Mark Kermode's review in the Guardian. But someone's comments caught my eye lower down the page. I explored and came across this thing that EJ can do, which is to provide music to any lyrics he sees. So take a gander at this: and this one:
Went to see it last week and it was really good. Enjoyed it almost as much as Bohemian Rhapsody. It was interesting to see that skill he has.
