Yeah season five was probably the worst of all the seasons in fairness but it wasn't bad enough for me to want to bin it off. I'm hoping season six will make up for it though, especially as it looks like the Rus Vikings are coming into it.
The Last Kingdom is pretty good (spoiler; the Saxons do the Vikings). Season one was superb, 2&3 didn't quite live up to that, but still good.
Both are far far weaker and much more tame than Spartacus. Both are PG rated compared to that. But GOT is much better than Vikings. Vikings is tame old waffle.

yeah, you will be let down after about S5 or 6 when the books finish and they had to make it up themselves, I wonder if they made such a cheesefest of the ending to force Martin to finish the books. Vikings was decent until it started being about his sons, just having Ivarr on screen ruins it for me, The Last Kingdom is much better imo, especially when dealing with the shield wall tactics. Agree about Spartacus, it and the prequel were great. Interesting, I thought the opposite. Best show on TV atm is The Expanse, it's Sci-fi but in the realms of plausbility, you have to give it 3 or 4 episodes to warm up though as the first few are kinda slowish as they build the world.
Yeah, it was great TV. Series 2, where they moved the action onto the docks, was the best imo. Series 5 was weak though. Whereas The Sopranos just kept getting better right up to the end...
