More money is wasted in football imo
By that I say more big money transfers are flops

Man City are without doubt the best football team I have seen since us in 75

Used to be the highlight of the season....now not even a shadow of its former self....

What a crock of ****e the FA have overseen....what is the point of trying to compete with that lot.....might as well just give them all the domestic trophies for the foreseeable....

I caught the end of a phone in on 5 Live when a Man City fan phoned in and said that maybe it is time for the powers that be bring in a rule which states that you have to have at least 5 English players in your team. This way it helps England bring players forward to internationals. Anyone have any comments? I though it would be nice to see a rule like this come in however Bosman ruling put paid to this.
I thought Watford were OK until goal 3..however even though they lost 6, I still thought their 2 centre backs did as best as they could.
Also, although Citeh have spend lots of money, it still takes a good manager to keep the team motivated whether they are in the team or not.

The honest answer has to be 'Yes of course'. But a club which struggles to sell out a stadium of 18,000 would always be looking over its shoulder with anxiety that the owners would get bored or go through a rocky patch financially as we know what happens then. Add to that the more important thing that very soon we would all have been priced out of going at all so that the whole stadium could be converted into corporate boxes. Therefore short-lived joy coupled with a lot of angst not to mention the derision of others who would rejoice at our downfall.

the Express gave the majority of Watford players a rating of 2 or 3 with the top player getting 4. That game was depressing. Watford are a decent side, how many would they've put past us?

Harsh. Some of them simply didn’t turn up (Deeney) but some were just unfortunate enough to meet City on one of their good days.

The tactics were horrendous too IMO. That 4-2-2-2 leaves you susceptible to wide players. Deulofeu was sort of on the right to help counter that but Mahrez has Holebas, who’s a weak link anyway, one on one from the first attack.

I guess Deeney had to play but it really needed to be a 4-5-1 with Gray who is mobile if not very good through the middle. Maybe a bit of sentiment from the manager.

Admittedly it’s easy to say that after the event.

Just the 1 wasn't it, and they were a bit lucky to go through as I remember it.

In my opinion everyone putting City's dominance down to money alone are missing the mark considerably. They've been outspent on fees and wages by Manchester United for years but where has it got them?
Name me one player City have spent over market value for under Guardiola/Begiristain? There are several deals in recent time where City have backed away because of either fee or wages not fitting their wage structure.
Everyone should appreciate being able to witness the best manager ever seen in football manage in England, pushing boundaries to limits never seen before. Guardiola never rests, never. It's 100% focus on his job, burning the oil to the extreme. City will not be able to keep it up after he's gone, but they're in a better position to keep the high standards because of the structure and ethos put in place by him.
Players development under him are wild! Even the senior players develop and gets better. England will have Sterling, Foden and Stones as their core in years to come because of their development under Pep.
City had planned for this years in advance, appointing Txiki Begiristain and putting a background team in place for when Guardiola became available.
Give them a bit more credit than just putting it down to money. Yes this couldn't be done without an obscene amount of money, but money alone doesn't buy success as we're a prime example of.

198 points over two seasons, 5 domestic trophies. Will it ever be topped? Maybe only by the man himself but I doubt it.

Good idea, we should ask all our players "Are you a professional footballer?" Anyone saying yes should be fired...

Sunderland v. Charlton today. Now if that is half as good as their previous meeting at Wembley, we're in for a treat

My lad is off down to see this with his Mackem mate. I guess they will be pissed well before kick off.

Many Sunderland fans are pretty pissed off that they didn’t walk this league given that they still have a bunch of players on PL contracts and are comparatively loaded, with huge gates, set against the rest of the league. The football hasn’t been pretty either.

Interesting that Luton and Barnsley did it in style with much more attacking football despite their much smaller budgets. Charlton are proper dark horses, despite their crackpot owner they have a side which has flourished with the emphasis on youth, much of it under the tutelage of a certain Steve Gallen, remember him?...
