A lot of comment about it being a poor game, not so, my take on it was this was the teams and JR,s finest hour. He got everything right and I take my hat off to him. During the game I thought his subs were a bit strange, but they were spot on and made at just the right time, but the outstanding move was re-uniting the partnership of Catts and Leddy in midfield they bring out the best in each other and are far and away our best options in central mid field. Ozturk also was a rock last night, unrecognisable from early impressions, and just what was needed. And of course not forgetting Big Jon who was his usual self. If we can get the squad fit, McGeady, Watmore etc I am sure we can go even one better. OaU.

I do agree with you, in regards to the setup and tactics being spot on, but it really was ****e to watch.

I don’t care about that though, and I’m sure none of us do. Stopped the 3rd highest scorers on the league scoring for 180mins, including half hour or so with 10. Great effort from the lads.

We will have some creativity back at Wembley hopefully. It’s job done and we can only be delighted.

I’ll say on record I didn’t think we’d get through, but now I’m convinced we can win the final. The cycle of supporting Sunderland emotionally is never ending <laugh>

When I first read that I had a vision of a kid getting a flare bounced off his head and, for his troubles, receiving a slap by a bloke standing next to him.

Pompy was always one of my favourite away days as Fratton Park reminds me of Roker Park. Portsmouth used to have a very welcoming fan base, great support and up for the banter, but they seem to have been infiltrated by more than their fair share of idiots. Such a shame for the good fans at the club.

I've mentioned earlier I was in B&B digs this morning with two Pompey fans, I was really well behaved and didn't upset them at all.
In fairness they thought this result was almost inevitable as they have failed to win any any of their six play off matches(not sure if that's true) and although the match was difficult for them they thought we deserved to go through.
they were both at the Checkatrade final and their impression of our fans was first class, easy to mix with us how they summed it up.
Two decent lads in their forties who could talk easily about football in general, don't think their part of the Pompey flare throwing, player punching brigade.
Enjoyed my brief time with them and as has been said every club has its share of idiots.

Anybody watching the other play off semi.
Doncaster scored late to take the game into extra time.
    Come on Donny.
