Estimado Sr. Bielsa: On behalf of the Leeds United Supporters’ Trust, members and fans, we felt compelled to write to you to express our feelings on the overall impact you’ve had on our club. In the short time that you and your team have been coaching Leeds United we have seen an inspirational turn around in the quality of football at Elland Road. It has been incredibly pleasing to see the unity within the club and the progress this has led to both on and off the field. Improvements to the training ground, a clear footballing ethos and a truly passionate backroom staff has gone a long way in giving this special club its identity back after years of previous mismanagement. Whilst this season has unfortunately ended not as we’d hoped, it has been a brilliant season to be a part of. Additionally, the performances of the U18 and U23 teams has been remarkable and highlights what a bright future the club has ahead of it. We hope they are very proud of their achievements and long may it continue. Leeds is again a city united, football has returned. Together we are loyal, we are determined, we are proud. The long history of our club is well established, but as historical, time-honoured successes fade, there is so much still to be written and we feel this has only just begun. This season alone has renewed our hope in the future and that a new chapter of our heritage is underway, we want you to remain the key part of it. Even through difficult times and perceived injustices you have held an unparalleled level of dignity, acting always in the best interests of the club, this has not gone unnoticed among the fan base. Your passion and tireless dedication in improving the team has affirmed our trust in you and your staff. You have our respect, our admiration and our unwavering support. We believe in your philosophy and thank you for all your efforts. Your football makes us dream again and we’re all hoping you will continue to take us on the journey in our Centenary season. It is our hope that the board will continue to invest in the team and allow you to make the improvements you would like to give us that extra push we need for what’s going to be a very special season in 2019/2020. Gracias Marcelo, somos nosotros contra el mundo; Marching on Together. Muy atentamente, Leeds United Supporters Trust
Bielsa has done a fantastic job with these players, and it has been one of the best seasons for a long time, I hope he stays and Radz supports him financially, but, I just wish he would have the same attitude towards the FL as they have towards our club, and that is, **** YOU
I was thinking about this and I am wondering if Bielsa feels it is for his bosses to speak out and stick up for him.... Bielsa takes the blame for everything on his own shoulders, he refuses to blame any player, says mistakes are natural and you shouldn't pinpoint one moment, you should look at the whole 90 minutes. When the EFL and FA were finger pointing at Bielsa surely it was down to Rads, Orta and Kinnear to speak out and say screw you, our coach has done nothing wrong and we'll fight any fine. I have a feeling, a hunch that Bielsa didn't feel backed as much as he should have been?
I may be wrong mate, but I thought Bielsa took full responsibility for the spying bollox But I do agree with you, Rads and the rest of them should have stood up to the corrupt FL, no rules were broken
Is there no action that the club or fanbase could take which would highlight the pathetic establishment bias and at least publicly embarrass the tw@ts at the EFL? Pi$$ing Sky off would be a possible avenue to explore, putting indirect pressure on the EFL to make us toe the line leading to us getting our (metaphorical) day in court. Can't think of anything else short of refusing to sell tickets altogether for selected games or threatening to pull out of the league altogether. It really annoys me though that the biased b@stards think they're untouchable. We don't have any leverage. Any Air Traffic Controllers in our midst who might give us a few pointers?
I've been thinking the same thing Davy, we can ban ****s from the stadium for life for, well, being ****s, so I say we should ban Sky from Elland Road. obviously the FL have a contract with Sky, but do the clubs or are we contracted through the corrupt FL, probably are
He did mate but I think our board should have said to him no, don’t apologise, you’ve done nothing wrong in our eyes and we’re going to fight any charges. We all panicked (fans included) fearing a points deduction.
For what it's worth. The fine 200k was way out of line and I don't think that Bielsa should have paid it out of his own pocket. The club should have fought his case. I actually think that Radz did not want to rock the FA EFL boat thinking we were heading for promotion. Can you imagine the fallout if old red nose had done the same thing
At the time the club accepted and agreed to pay the fine just to get it to go away* and Kinnear's programme notes have been increasingly critical of that *and then obviously Bielsa insisted on paying. Speaking of Kinnear
Just being me, that's just good management what I really want to see cast in stone is that Bielsa is staying for at least another season.
Indeed but it's a long time since we've had good management.... It's ulitmately down to Senor Bielsa now - we have the option on another year, we've exercised that option but we also have a gentlemans agreement that we'd let him go if he wanted to. Obviously he'll want assurances on what he wants and suspect he'll have to decide whether he's ready and prepared to go again. I suspect that we'll be able to meet his requests and that he'll not be able to resist going again.
Lets be honest here, Bielsa is the main cause since January why Leeds blew the best chance of getting promotion for years. To not see that is ignoring the facts and wishful thinking. It is unlikely he will have a better chance again as he finished the season in relegation mode, Thousands of Leeds fans are saying the same on other social media sites and they are more honest that Bielsa was the cause of Leeds demise.
FFS, talk about a broken record! As I replied to an almost identical post from you yesterday .... "ROFL. Crap bait on that hook. Then again, the way Bielsa gave away a penalty. And crashed into himself for another goal. And positioned himself like a 12yo goalie. Yes, you may have a point. We must stop Bielsa making these stupid mistakes on the field".
FFS Dai - do us all a favour down here and stop aggravating the natives. Rorke's Drift was bad enough but this lot are worse than the ****ing Zulus.......
It was the only time I saw them bud, when they came to Elland Road, and they got a football lesson, not interesting in them at all before or after our games
