Thank you, it is no wonder I don't watch it then. I take it you must watch it so I looked it up.

You should have waited for the bread queue in the morning, normally a reliable source of information.

No queue SH, so no debate. We have proper informative TV programmes each day that keep us updated on the EU elections. It is also nice to see a stable government going about the things that really matter to people and not the turmoil that exists in the UK.

French government kept busy, riots, high unemployment, low growth, unpopular President, far right resurgence, etc.

Headlines in the paper today. Where have the yellow vests gone? Poll shows that President has a 10 point lead over Le Pen. Government help to insulate homes very popular. What apart from the Tories meltdown is making the headlines over there?

Aaron Banks seems to have been very generous to his pal Farage paying for quite a lot.
    * Rented Mr Farage an exclusive £4.4m Chelsea home, through one of his companies, paying for furniture plus council tax, water and electricity bills.
    * Provided a Land Rover Discovery car, valued at £32,300, plus £20,000 for a “close protection driver”.
    * Leased private office space for £1,500 a month and paid Mr Farage’s personal assistant.
    * Spent hundreds of thousands of pounds promoting “Brand Farage” in America.
    * Paid a Fox News anchor £11,305.41 to interview Mr Farage at the convention.
    * Paid more than £15,000 to fly Mr Farage to and from Washington for Mr Trump’s inauguration, plus £1,000 on a room at the plush Mayflower Hotel.

So why would he have wanted to be so generous? Mr. Banks owns an insurance company, and Farage wants to privatise the NHS, with people having access to it by way of private insurance. Being of a suspicious mind I can link the two, which might or might not be correct. If I am incorrect what other reason for his patronage of this chancer can be put forward? Farage has had numerous requests to answer questions about the above spending, but refuses to comment. Mr. Banks was referred to police by the Electoral Commission over evidence of “multiple” criminal acts. The watchdog suggested he was “not the true source” of £8m of donations to the Leave.EU campaign.

Macron has recovered slightly from being the most unpopular President in French history. Unemployment still horrendously high, growth still dropping.

Macron rattled by Le Pen's lead in the polls.

What particular part of your metabolism gets worked up into orgasms of glee every time you see a sign that the far right are doing well (somewhere - anywhere) in some poll which you found amongst your comics ? As if we don't know the answer to that. Why don't you just come out with your true political colours and have done with it ?

Much of the huge gain in popularity for far right groups across Europe is simply down to the selfish and erroneous decision taken by Merkel to open the EU external borders to uncontrolled immigration. Most societies were rightly horrified by this action. The EU electorate will show their displeasure at Brussels for condoning such action by voting for eurosceptic groups seeking major change. They want to follow the UK's lead by demanding more control at national level. This is completely at odds with politicians like Macron as he pushes his agenda for a United States of Europe. Hopefully Brexit will be the turning point to create a much more democratic EU rather than the self serving cash cow for several thousand leeches in Brussels.

She didn't open the external borders SH. Those who were allowed into Germany were already within the EU. Try to get your facts right.

She encouraged more to try their luck crossing the seas, many deaths are directly down to her.

  13. If we are leaving why do you care if it becomes more democratic or not? It'll have nothing to do with us.

I might want to live within the EU in future, either full or part time, probably only part time. It depends if Momentum ever get a chance of ruining the UK.

So you might choose to live in the supposedly undemocratic EU after being a stalwart of Brexit, what a hypocrite.

You’ll no longer have the benefit of freedom of movement btw.

Hopefully the EU will improve dramatically. Brexiteers are not anti Europe, they just prefer their own government to decide on the suitability of immigrants. They same will obviously apply to EU countries. Fortunately several of them have simple schemes to allow non EU applicants to live in the EU.

So you expect the EU to improve dramatically yet you’re advocating us leaving it? Are you all there?

Many EU countries are liable to mirror the U.K. requirements for residency for U.K. citizens seeking to move there btw. Good luck with the health insurance.

The vast number of new eurosceptic MEPs will demand improvements and stop more centralisation. UK citizens will be treated as non EU so will qualify for said schemes.

I have private medical insurance so fully covered thanks.

I should check your policy Grandad, as your private healthcare cover will be priced based on being backed up by the NHS, whether home or abroard. See U.S. healthcare insurance costs for a dose of reality.
