We await the fallout from this season PL. Will Jamal be around, or will he be plucked by an ambitious Championship team or even a PL team like Leicester willing to take a punt on a player costing relatively little? Take away Curtis who has spent the last third kicking his heels, and suddenly the squad looks not much better than Plymouth´s.
I'm not delusional, I genuinely would prefer to be challenging for the title in League 1 than making up the numbers in the Premier League. I mean, the point of watching football and following a team is to be entertained right? But which is more entertaining, winning lots of games with attacking football, winning multiple games in a row, or grinding out 36 points and losing the majority of your games? Seems a no brainer to me.
My biggest regrets with not going up are the potential of losing Curtis, Lowe and Pittman... and also having to participate in the ****ing Checkatrade trophy again.
The skates are staying down And the scum are staying up Scum are staying up Scum are staying up Also would rather be in the prem. Enjoyed league one but we actually managed to get out of it.
But why? I support my team, not the league. Sure you might see a few more internationals and England players in the Premier League... but I attend matches to watch and support my own team, not watch the opposition's players. And I enjoy matches more when we win (generally), so I'd have more enjoyment winning against Accrington Stanley than seeing us lose against Man £ity. Though the increase in media coverage would admittedly be nice.
Methinks you protesteth too much Lapras, your post about being in the ****ing play-offs betray your true feelings...
I was referring to the PL, but yeah we probably wouldn't compete in the Championship at the moment. Eisner only took over less than 2 years ago and it takes time to build sustainably and create a Championship-ready side, especially when we were being run so frugally previously.
I've said previously (and I still stand by it) that my ideal league would be the Championship. Better media coverage, a more open and competitive league which is a damn sight more interesting than the Premier League while a bit of international exoticness but not to the levels of the PL where English players are rarer than gold. Best of all worlds!
In other news, there was a single prisoner riot somewhere in Russia tonight, but its under control now...............well except the uncontrollable sobbing. Come home soon Ming.
