    Not good enough Tom! And by the sounds of it, there is not enough overall quality in that Pompey squad at the moment. So it is perhaps better to try to have another good season at this level than go up and be totally out of depth.

    Laugh it up Southampton fans, but next season we'll probably be challenging for promotion, and maybe even the league title, while you'll be relegation fodder in a league you have an infinitesimal chance of winning. I know which I'd rather be.

    Even if you're not relegation fodder, you'll still just be making up the numbers and have almost no chance of winning the the league. At least we'll most likely be competing for something other than a participation award.
