If the club doesn't meet the players expectations, financially, career wise or both then they are likely to look for new employers and so I agree. The available funds, well yes it would be great to have some more but what he has achieved with limited finances has been great and deserves acknowledgment. I think your comments about Orta are harsh but probably true, for the first team. Hence I suspect that the problem here is what you elude to and goes back to the previous point. There appear to be a good bunch at U23 who I assume Orta was involved in signing so he can't be all bad. I don't know how good other Directors of Football records are for comparison in other teams but I'm sure it's not a science and available funds make the pickings better. Lets not forget that Derby, Villa and Sheff Weds face possible sanctions like Birmingham for breaching FFP rules and spending too much.
