Think it's a case of whether Villa do this in normal time or extra time. WBA had their chances from loose play at the back by Villa, squandered them, and the red card has hurt them badly.

Yes, it will be ET plus penalties if needed.

I'd love Baggiwa to win, but being down to10 men ......

Just had a look at Steer's career, didn't realise he'd only made 17 appearances for Villa, despite joining in 2013. Spent the first half of this season on loan in league one, and only got recalled because of injuries to Villa's two senior keepers.

Villa look fitter, more creative, and have more potent attacking threats on the pitch. Really think penalties are WBAs only hope.

Isn’t that just the man down?

Until then West Brom looked totally dominant and should have scored a couple

Fair play Jed Steer - he didn't learn to save penalties like that at Norwich!

It obviously didn't help them, but WBA only ever looked a threat on the counter, they didn't boss the midfield. Their best chances came from Villa mistakes. Taking Murphy off when you're defending deep - pace up front can offer some relieve. Admittedly Jacob suffered from a lack of end product.

Mad to think Norwich thought Jed Steer wasn't good enough. Now he's an important player for a Club the size of Villa with all their Millions.

Looking forward to see Jacob and Jed start tonight. I bet they both do us proud.

My recollection is that it wasn’t that we thought he wasn’t good enough - on the contrary we thought he was, we didn’t release him. However, Lambert tried to poach several of our players and Jed Steer ended up being the only one he actually managed to poach. (He got some later...)

Doesn’t look like we missed out too much, so no big loss unlike with Gunn, but I do think he will be a decent keeper.

Oh yeah! That's right, Lambert took him there!

Me neither, but I do like to see ex Canaries do well, I'm not one of those who instantly dislike them as soon as they move on. Jed did well with the penalties.

The main gripe with Jed is that he thought he should have been above Declan Rudd in the pecking order. That's why he jumped ship and joined Lambert at Villa!
