Pains me to say it but from a pragmatic point of view a Chelsea win would be best. They already have CL money coming in next season but can't spend it. 3 years off the top table could be crippling for Arsenal. I think it will be a fascinating game. Emery is master of the tournament whereas Sarri has zero trophies to his name. But the Chelsea team is packed with players who have won countless trophies. And then there is the added element of a certain little Belgian gobshite wanting to go out with a bang.
I hope we win but we have recently been pretty ****e against arsenal. Tbf most of that was under conte who gave them a lot of respect which imo played into their hands plus the rub of the green. It should be a good game but I'm concerned by our lack of width
Mate if Hazard turns up it’s game over. Let’s just hope he wants to leave you boys on a high. Btw, you sorted this bloody avatar yet or what?
Doesnt take place until new season right? Tbh im waiting for some ammunition like say salah takes a 96th minute dive to score a pen, him lifting the trophy might be my pick
Don’t think there was an agreed time, everyone else seems to sorting there’s though so assumed ours would be similar. You can be guaranteed of a Salah dive or two. Here’s hoping he snaps his leg when he does it.
Bundesliga Rando Watch ...okay, not exactly a rando given he's a full international, but SportBild are reporting that we have met with the representatives of Julian Brandt, with reports that he has a €25m release clause that looks like an absolute steal Most importantly, if we did sign him it would break the heart of that bellend who was so hopeful that one day he would see the sight of seeing Brandt loaded onto the Bundesliga conveyor belt that would dump him outside the Allianz Arena, and for that we would all be eternally grateful
Spurs win ratio with Harry Winks this season: 69%. Spurs win ratio without Harry Winks this season: 46%.
I'm a big fan of Winks but I don't think we can read too much into that, considering the alternative this season when's been out has been a half-fit Wanyama or Dier, an out of position Alli, or an inexperienced Skipp. He's a solid player but after 3 years of first team football not one who looks like he'll ever become top class. It's the lack of alternatives that makes him look better than he is.
You are looking at the wrong number. A 69% win ratio is very very good. Only a team with good players in all positions can manage that. It would most likely get us more than 85 points in the PL and a one in 5 chance of winning each cup. It is what we should be aiming for and the fact that we achieved it with Winks in the team is to his credit.
One thing that does stand out is he doesn't sign particularly long contracts with Leverkusen, most recently signing a three-year deal in May last year, which does make it look like he's waiting for a better offer - which his rumoured release clause also indicates But, as I said, if it causes physical pain to that plankton who was so invested in the idea of Bayern deeming Brandt worthy of signing him while ****posting on our board a couple of seasons back, it will be a worthwhile signing...
Wanyama seems a given (then again, he seemed a given this time last year...) but for me Dier has value as a utility player, both in midfield and defence
