https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48264815 Mike Dean has the look of a man who wants the police to know he definitely has an alibi for yesterday
Am I the only one who thought he looked rather ridiculous in that clip? I now know what youngsters feel when their fathers go on the dancefloor to disco dance af weddings. I just view him as a measured guy a ref (and no he's not my dad!!!).

PSG, Real Madrid and Barcelona have been breaking the rules for years, Why are city going to be made a scapegoat?
Nah it’s not cause we haven’t won it It’s cause if you win it you have performed in the league, your continents premier comp and then beaten most likely a Brazilian club side - which is no gimme You are the best in the world - no questions I honestly reckon that over next 10-20 years that comp will get money thrown at it till it becomes very important And imho quite rightly so. I feel we tend to be almost a bit arrogant in the way we disregard say the super cup, charity shield but just an op Tbh it is something I find interesting reading what you guys all think on this one The only reason I have the PL level with CL is cause we haven’t won it but if we had not won either or won each in the past two years I would agree with Bobby (?) and put the CL higher Winning the title is no big thing now - it’s about the top four - why ? And that’s the answer When in Champ it’s all about getting to that next level - PL and winning it CL is next level - stop there As is WC lmao
imo these are preseason side shows. id rate that cup in America more highly than a Re-run of Watford and city next August. it was just a game for charity when the gate meant something. the super cup is an utter irrelevance especially as they killed it off as any sort of spectacle playing it in Monaco for years. haven't watched that game.in 10 years tbh.
True. That's why it wont happen. Its interesting that those clubs are more than ordinary football clubs. They are owned by either the local government of cities or government corporations of whole countries.
Fair enough I think they have the Charity Shield the wrong way round I think I’m the event of double/treble being achieved it should be runners up in league vs the FA Cup winners as game likely to be better quality
Its just a charity event. Its about the gate. even thats in doubt at this point. the FA robbed the gate from charity and gave it to the clubs who made 1st round of FA cup. So..... its just a big lie at this point. the lie is that those 124 clubs distribute funds to charities of thier choice... or community ****. that bascially means it ends up in the pockets of greedy ****s. Theres no visibility to where it goes.
just a quick note on why its the"community" shield now "In 2002, the Charity Commission found that the Football Association had failed to meet its legal obligations under charity law, by failing to specify what money from ticket sales went to charity, and delaying payments to the charities nominated. As a result, the competition was renamed the Community Shield." that says it all for me. Rather than do the books right and be transparent the thing was renamed. If you can find anything a club can point where the cash came in and they donated it great... I'd love to know.
PSG are still under investigation. And they have been punished once already, same as City. Should think they'd face the same fate as City if they are found guilty. Unfortunately, despite the underhandedness of Real and Barca, they're sponsorship deals are probably the real deal. They have the reputation and name. There is probably something a little dodgy about both, both have been done for Youth acquisitions in the past, but not on the scale of PSG and City which is just financial doping.
Both City and PSG received fines previously. I'm sure that will be their out this time too. Pay a nothing fine from their billions and put that money in the pockets of those in charge of decision making.
Frankly as i've said this morning I'm actually shocked the EU anti competition agency isn't all over PSG and city for artificial state aid. its clear UEfa and FIFA are utterly corrupt but you'd think someone who's been on the receiving end of PSG like monaco would complain bitterly about whats happened... or Lille or lyon. I expect they make so much money in transfer fees they like the gravy.
Too much money in football and that is why billionaires are interested in investing in it.In the 70s it was a game of passion. Now, it's winner takes all.Like Chinese they were never interested in religion before, now, they are having a second thought because it's where bread and butter is.[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji28][emoji203] Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk
The owners of PSG and City have a corporate and political strategy delivered through the success of their football clubs. So this financial doping which is really what it is is worthwhile for them. For these governmental bodies these clubs are pure marketing and the success is reflected in the political success of the rulers. So in financial terms we have fish living in a pool but 2 or 3 of those are sharks. That is it is an uneven playing field when any player can be acquired by these clubs (without FFP in place) if price is no object. In a way I'm really happy that we managed to get VVD and Allison. Make no mistake we would not have had a look in if City and PSG had been interested in them. FFP is important to keep the competition alive and exciting. Was the procession last season with City winning by 100 points and 20 points ahead not boring? The league in Scotland is extremely boring because no one except Celtic are playing for the title. Soon it will be City and everyone playing for CL places. I fear that this year will have been an exception to that rule.
