Not a tip but take a look at the 6:30 from Ffos las, some quality horses starting over fences and Pingshou returning to them after a poor season. Really interesting race for the future and we might see a useful one come out of it.
Quevega’s daughter Princess Vega makes her debut at Tramore (2:05) today - definitely one to watch and hopefully she gets off to a good start
POTENZA 12/1 Beverley 4:20 Low grade handicaps are not everyones cup of tea but this one looks like he has been brought along slowly with a race like this in mind. The pedigree screams 10f and that is the trip he gets today. He has a half-sister that raced for Mark Johnston and reached a mark of 101 over middle distances. Potenza has earned his mark sprinting and comes here off a perch of 54. His latest run when stepped up to a mile was a staying on 4th and this extra 2f should be just the ticket. The yard are 2 from 7 in the last 14 days so it looks like Stef has them in decent form.
BABYTAGGLE 4/1 Ffos Las 8:00 Ran a belter at Huntingdon behind the useful looking Storm Control at Huntingdon just five days ago. Was a whopping 10lb wrong that day and spared a hard ride. A much fairer ask today and looks certain to run a very big race.
Yard would be the worry for me with this one, not exactly firing them in and many are running poorly. He was 7lb wrong the last day wasn’t he?
Had to come away from the politics thread, some of the remainers on there are more blinkered than a Man United fan who still think their club are competitive! Anyway onto horse racing. One main fancy for me today and not a bad price too. 3:20 Beverley - Show Palace 7/1. A poor run last time but that was on good ground. Back on preferred softer ground today with in my opinion a very talented young jockey on board. Rode the horse once before on its penultimate run last month and finished a respectable 4th. Fairly consistent before that although hasn't won for nearly two years. With today's ideal trip and conditions I think it could be win number 11.
10, jockey put up 3lb o/w to add to his problems and he ran well so not too fussed what the rest of the yard is doing.
Not sure on this. 119 top weight carried 11 12 (166) 96 carried 9 10 (136) Difference 30 96 + 30 = 126 126 - x = 119 X = 7lbs wrong?
7lbs out of handicap, jockey put up 3lb o/w = 10lb wrong POTENZIA a non-runner and was in to 7's, notebook time!
Am shocked at the barn they’ve placed in her though. Never heard of the trainer. Given her lineage you would have thought the owners would have contacted Seven Barrows, and instructed, ‘‘Endo, use your magic wand and produce some magic’.
Have the breeders brought her back then??? They originally sold Princess Vega as a foal for €50,000 back in ‘16. Always thought that was a ridiculously low amount.
As work is boring me to tears today I've had a sneaky 50p e/w yankee on the following to give me something to take my mind away from the tedious boredom and lack of any action...!! Beverley 3:20 - Show Palace @ 8/1 4:20 - Fnjal @ 8/1 4:50 - Land of Winter @ 10/1 5:25 - Moll Davis @ 14/1 Cheers...
Some and I include myself in this will be pleased with this statement. https://www.rte.ie/sport/racing/2019/0514/1049388-gigginstown-will-stop-purchasing-young-horses/
That is going to leave a big old hole. How many horses have they in training? About 170? Edit - Racing Post reports they have 225 horses across 6 trainers
