Unless a load of people have moved into the area recently, more like 450K. Yep, surprising, I know.

EDIT: OK, it depends how you count it. In the city they have nearly 450K, but in the whole of the area they have 790K. Southampton has 225K, but if you include the entire suburban area, it is 305K. Anyway, Leeds is a lot bigger, which is actually your original point.

According to the census Leeds as a City has 790K and Southampton 235K. So sorry - 3.5 times. Anyway Leeds also has a massive catchment area.

Whatever..! We both agree, it's much, much bigger.

Did you know that we form a major metropolitan area that has over 1.5 million people living in it..? That's some catchment area in itself. Sadly, that does include Pompey..!
 
All this "going for a pee" malarky is a nonsense.... I mean what happened to the good old days, when they'd just "go" where they were on the terrace and it'd run down to the bottom..... all seater stadium must be to blame :smiley:

As for empty seats after half-time, I thought it was compulsory...... having watched all the England games on the telly at the new Wembley (anyone seen where they sell the prawn sarnies at St Mary's?)
 
My final thought on the issue is that in that football is such a great game i always feel compelled to stay to the sometimes bitter end . i remember our opening day humiliation against Palace a few years back 4 1 down at home i stayed in to the 4 mins added humiliation. It almost feels like an obligation after all how many Tranny and Leeds fans probably sloped off early when 3 0 down to us only for both teams to turn the games round in this game you have to beleive any thing can happen at any time and often does .Go home early at your peril
