That and they dont need him. They need some grafters with technical ability. They have zero pace in the side, their only runners are the full backs and a not to nimble suarez and the energy in the side is shocking. Hes one of the guys who should be running a lot. He isnt that guy
I agree on pace and ability to get about pitch. midfield is badly.lacking. Vidal busquets rakitic. their time is past.
I don't recall Fabinho ever being played at RB by Klopp. Henderson and Milner yes, but not Fabinho who has played CB. Gomez is a better option than Milner and co, but he is still a big step down for the way we try to play with our full backs, plus it takes away from his great role as CB alongside Van Dijk. I don't see Milner being able to continue in the cover for either for too much longer.
Its interesting because we’ve gone to a more solid midfield 3 which has allowed both full backs to get forward at the same time and be the creative players, double digit assists each is unheard of. I think klopp wants the team like this given the personnel we have. Now, if we had a more creative midfielder like Coutinho, would that mean the system had to change and full backs be a bit more reserved with only 2 in the middle to cover them. Of course there is horses horses for courses argument and no doubt having a creative midfielder will be a benefit but if we have to sacrifice a whole system to accommodate them is it worth it? Also worth mentioning that since we lost coutinho ans got to a more solid midfield 3, our defensive stats have been incredible. Yes we got VVD in that Jan and Robbo came into side then Allison and Fabinho this summer but cant overlook the fact that we aren’t being overrun in the midfield now when teams try and counter as the players we have are better defensively.
I think Klopp would like the choice to rotate not only players but the system in place depending on who we play.
De Ligt latest Liverpool are set to make a £75m move for Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt, according to reports from Spain. Barcelona are keen to land the highly-rated centre-back but fear that Liverpool will hijack their approach. Barca have already signed de Ligt's Ajax and Holland team-mate Frenkie De Jong for £67million, but Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk has also forged a partnership with de Ligt on the international stage. Liverpool transfer news: Italy star WANTS to play for Jurgen Klopp LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp may be on the lookout for a new forward this summer and Italy star Domenico Berardi has opened up the door for a potential move.
no I'd say I was probably after starting post and not finishing it while I did something so missed your insightful comment
Klopp has said he doesn't like to sign players he already knows, so he won't be wanting Coutinho back. If he is not needed at Barcelona, he will likely stay in Spain, with who is anybody's guess.
just a quick mention of wage. nobody will pay him the 250k per week he's on at Barca.... so I can see him sticking it out there another 12 months.
