Well was it the world cup before last where they made sure that the hosts (Brazil) and previos winners Germany were kept apart so that if both won their group they would meet in the final? Not sure if that is a common thing or if it was coincidental which is why was picked up on
FIFA and EUFA main aim is £££££, look at cl and the seeding bollocks. they make sure of glamour ties as it creates more tv wealth, coincidental or not thats how they work! seb may have gone but the legacy lives on
Brighton have sacked houghton. That’s absolutely crazy. Iffy form towards end of season but keeping that club up was a brilliant achievement. Seems a really decent bloke as well, given pressure on whoever comes in to keep them up
that's ****ing disgraceful and unjust, new manager coming in will think what the **** do i have to do not to be sacked then!! but they are no different to players sadly and will get someone as its all about the ££££
Brighton ruthless.... but needed. the man is a good organiser but is married to 1 up and just being hard to beat at home. he's done exactly the same throughout his career which has been a good one overall. if Brighton want to build and survive next year they need to try. it's that simple. Brighton clung on. they lost to Cardiff and until.cardiff fell off were staring at the drop. when Cardiff lost to palace Brighton just about survived. the next.man in will want 2 or 3 faster better forwards and build.on the good work hughton did do.
Strange decision. Maybe not rolling over at the start against City did for him. Could see a long season ahead for them next year.
3 wins in 23 end of season. It did seem things had gone stale but even so, really tough one for houghton. What I would say though is the chairman is as good as they come, life long Brighton fan and does everything for the club so wouldn’t have done it on a whim. But it really hard on houghton that, will no doubt be snapped up by another club, maybe back at Newcastle if Rafa moves on
Its odd because Murray gets you 10+ goals a season. March is a very good wide player. They’ve missed izaquerdo (sp?) for most of the season as he’s the electric wide man. Gross has also been missing for a lot and he creates a lot for them. They were a team that were very much win 1-0. If they go down early it’s very rare they’ll come back and score 2
Murray is with respect to the lad a carthorse. he's worked like a dog all year but he is what he is... slow. up on his own he's asked to do a job same as Richie Lambert was for Southampton. gross was certainly decent. as I said hughton stuck one up for every teams he's lead in prem.etc. he's done the same thing and had the same results. if Brighton want to win more and progress from 17th to mid table and build they need to improve the squad. I frankly wouldn't give hughton a lot of cash
****ing hell mito, this is brighton not newcastle etc ffs. he deserves credit for keeping them up, but sadly has been sacked!!
Yes he does. Absolutely. But once you've done that and all's said and done the writing was still on wall and they fell over line. Imo they hung on but made this decision months ago. Next year they would probably be 20th on thier form
Their recruitment has been hit and miss. Few good ones like ryan, gross, izaquerdo, bissouma, but then some very average ones that spent big money on like locardia, andone. Maybe because of their style the forwards have struggled. Bit harsh as last year think they finished 13th or something which was very good.
Surviving. And Houghton got Brighton over the line too first year mate. The issue is not even what happened in first half of season, it's the second half and how poor they've been.
It's tough but theyve got to think what to do next and have made their decision. They've started with manager but as you say will need to look at recruitment side and like most club need to finally bite the technical director bullet
