Your point on Liverpool will depend on the next match and whether they can keep it up next year. Their squad is very young and I think of similar strength to ours but has done mightily well in the league this year. If we beat Liverpool next month no one will say have had a better season than us. Similarly Wolves could be a flash in the pan.
I thought Trippier got a lot of scapegoating on Wednesday. He got a decent block in on the shot that led to the corner (which I thought Rose gave away unnecessarily). At the corner it looked like we were executing a plan where Trippier distracted de Ligt so that Vertonghen could pick up his run more easily. He was actually fouled before the second goal. He made a goal saving tackle in the second half and his cross before our second goal caused mayhem.
I think Trippier needs a complete rest...I really hope he ain't sold as I think he is mentally and physically exhausted and his confidence is shot. He is s scape goat imho. I have been very lucky this season snd hsve only missed 3 home games and every time I have seen him play he has given everything but the longer the season has gone on the less effective he has been and the more errors he has made. He lost the ball in midfield v Ajax and it directly led to their second goal. But fans getting on his back at matches is unforgivable (or any other player). He was given dogs abuse in the NLD by a minority which helps no one especially him. I personally would not start him ... I would not start him. I would have him on the bench. That is not about scapegoating him but I think that he could cost us a goal...but then again I could never see Sissoko doing so well so wtf do I know
I think if Ericson needs to get it together again if he's Real bound.Maybe too much football again......and if we could have drawn a lot of matches instead of losing them...…. ….and how Sissoko has gone from Clark Kent to Superman is just uncanny and frankly he would be my player of the year just in front of Son.
We're in the CL final. We have the best stadium and training facilities in world football; We've got guaranteed CL football next season; We have some incredible players; We have an unbelievable manager who spurned Real Madrid and United to stick with us; We just made the largest profit in PL history; I doubt that it would happen but KWP froze against Barcelona and I don't think that he's ready. For all Aurier's faults, he has pace to deal with Mane, whereas the thought of Trippier dealing with him and Robertson makes me feel sick to my stomach. Foyth would be my first choice and like you, I'd have Trippier on the bench. However, his first half performances in Amsterdam and against Citeh were just sooo bad that he mustn't start or we could have lost by half time, if he repeated them. He's just all over the place.
Was Jan rested or injured?...….and we have lost goals at corners. Are our defenders smaller than other clubs or are we not defending well?
Forgot to say, when going to the game yesterday, I walked past Lee Young-Pyo and his entourage who were filming him outside the stadium. Still looked in good nick.
Another thing, Park Lane Square opened for the first time. Burgers bars and beer tents. I had a couple pints before the game but didn't stay afterwards, there was also a little stage so I reckon a band or something played.
...and we used to park our bikes with an elderly lady many years ago in her little old house. Oh dear!
Being fully fit for those 10 games I have no doubt he would have scored at least 6. IMHO he would have at least wanted to have personally finished on at least 20 PL goals this season.
When I was there it was a D.J.. I would say no one cares how good/bad they were, it was a good atmosphere and it was kerching.
