Yes, fair enough. Personally, I just think you cannot work as a senior presenter for the BBC, surrounded by all aspects of the media daily, and not be aware that Meghan was pregnant. On another issue, I just sent a tweet in support of ending the ridiculous witch hunt against 70 year old N Ireland army veterans...and I am now being followed by the Duke of York (genuine account not parody). I'll have to be careful what I tweet about the Royals now...!
Not everyone surrounds themselves with news - I can regularly go three or four days without watching any "live" tv, my evenings normally consist of listening to music or streaming something to watch. I'm on this forum though, where any major events to flash up - hence my discovery that the Royals had had a baby - I didn't even remember she was pregant!!
Another cretinous Corbyn decision, £10 an hour for a 16 or 17 year old with oncosts such as NI, pension and holidays comes to a sizeable add-on for someone with zero experience. Corbyn can't run his household budget according to his ex and he's clearly never run a business. Let him and Labour loose on the economy and we'll all go down the pan. No wonder he loves Venezuela...
I have no interest in the Royal Family, haven't done since the early 90s when Princess Anne ****ed me over from going to see Pink Floyd at Earls Court - long story...... I was vaguely aware Meghan was pregant but no idea on the timescales, so was surprised to hear that she'd given birth. I'm still apathetic about it though, and have probably spent more time discussing the Royal Family on this thread than I have in years.
Apart from not following Royal news I spend a lot of time in Thailand where I don't have TV and follow news on the nett only, opening up only what News looks of interest to me. When I'm in Oslo I have TV with Sky News, BBC World and other News channels, but don't remember hearing they were expecting, though maybe I did and just forgot it, as we do with age. I don't think you have as much cover of UK Royal events in many countries abroad, that you have in the UK.
That's fair enough. But as has been pointed out already, Baker works for the Beeb and has no possible basis on which to be unaware of who she is, who she is married to, what her ethnic background is and that she/they were having a baby. How can he even pretend not to know when the post referred to the royal baby leaving hospital? There is another point a bit closer I believe to what he may be trying to say. He does not know that for a black person to be associated with a monkey and cannot understand why anyone would make that connection from his choice of a baby chimp to mark a human baby being taken home. If that is his position, I do not believe him at all. I repeat the question I asked previously - did he post one of his incredibly funny monkey jokes when William and Kate took their babies home? If not, what on earth possessed him to do so on this occasion. It was not a brain fart. It was a calculated decision to find exactly the right picture he wanted for the occasion.
Maybe already mentioned in this thread but in the event of a hard brexit would UK clubs be excluded from Champions League and Europa League ?
His excuses sound far fetched, although "monkey" for me did have anyway, other non-race meanings. But I haven't lived in the UK for 37 years and the meaning of words change. I'd never heard of him before reading about this on here, or even recognise him from his photo, so though he sounds like a racist bigot with a warped sense of humour, I'll pass.
For the bleeding record (Just as you started to sound almost reasonable as well), when I said 'people' I was in no way referring to anyone on this board specifically, it was more a generalisation based on the ridiculous reaction this issue has received in some quarters.
You could have said all that originally..... However, you didn't. Thanks for the belated clarification.
Latest opinion poll in the Observer in %... Brexit 34 Labour 21 LibDem 12 Tories 11 Greens 8 UKIP 4 CHUK 3 It seems the Brexit bandwagon is on a roll as voters set to desert Tories and Labour big time...
Farage loses his **** on the Marr show when asked about his views about anything other than Brexit (never mind the fact that he now says No Deal is the way to go when he campaigned for a Norway deal). 'BBC bias' cries the racist prick who's never off the ****ing channel. A complete ****, but people on here will still vote for him.
Why should it bother you how others on here vote, Strolls? Corbyn presides over the most anti- semitic party since Mosley, but if you want to vote for him, that's your prerogative.
