Everton without Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison. Both been really good for Everton, especially in the last few months, so that’s a bit of a bonus for us.
PNP, can we have the CL final thread ASAP in order we can get the match well RCL'd in advance, cheers mate.
I'm surprised the Twitter/Reddit crowd aren't demanding we include Paris Maghoma in the squad for this one, given how he's second only to Troy Parrott in their estimations
I believe he is - but it once again does say a lot that everyone seems to have forgotten Tashan Oakley-Boothe exists
Not a surprise at all. Football authorities have a habit of upholding reds caused by retaliation and not addressing the original cause. This is perhaps something to do with protecting the integrity of their refs, because if they gave retrospective bans to the aggressors then they would be admitting that the ref didn't notice what was going on. Of course this argument is undermined by the fact that the refs don't have any integrity and by not punishing the original aggression they are just allowing this sort of thing to continue, and make the refs look stupid because we can all see the provocation that was missed. They're also ignoring the inconsistency where reds are not given for exactly the same thing (such as when Son got pushed over immediately after). The only odd exception to this was when Chelski appealed a red where someone got pushed over and got the ban reduced to two matches for some bizarre reason.
In other words, football authorities have adopted the exact same approach to discipline as the average teacher, who ignore the bloke running up behind you punching you in the back of the head but do hand you a detention for swearing in response No, I didn't show up for that detention, since you ask...
Is it correct that Verts has been ruled out for tomorrow? Is Sanchez available? If not, I suspect that will be Dier playing CB.
It does make you wonder what VAR would have made of the incident. Would there be no red cards at all, three or something in the middle?
The way Sanchez was limping on the pitch wed night I will be surprised if we see him again this season
As I think I said elsewhere in this thread, the bench will make for interesting reading: on the one hand Lamela will likely be there, on the other I'm expecting at least two of Skipp, Marsh and Eyoma
Lily is ineligible, however ...and seriously, has anyone pointed out to our club PR team that you can't have a female cockerel?
