I think Poch is just being honest...if you want to mix it at the top you have to change your strategy...he's right he can't keep on doing it this way.

However I've also heard that he has had money available but won't just spend it unless they are on his targets.

Ultimately...he's show his quality and now it's up to Levy. If Poch walks then it's Levy's fault. The man is in a strong bargaining position

Poch does tend to talk **** in Pressers too.

I know you’re one of the few Spurs fans who see it for how it is with Levy. He’s first and foremost a businessman who is making a profit for ENIC.

Whilst he’s helped develop your club, your footballing record under his 18 years of stewardship is 1 league cup.

Man simply doesn’t invest what’s needed to take you to the next level. Must be infuriating for Poch

Yeah...you see, now Levy is running out of excuses...the cash cow is up and running.

That's why Poch has meltdowns in Pressers...he knows what he needs but he's a loyal man...Levy on the other hand is a bit of a chancer...he needs to be careful...bullshit won't cut it

  5. I think Levy is onside with Poch - the two of them are very close.

I suspect that both Poch and Levy are trying to get Joe Lewis to agree to release more cash.

Poch clearly wants to stay at Spurs. At the same time, he's making it clear that he wants Spurs to be competitive. He's making it clear that he's not going to hang around to get sacked, if the club expect him to keep delivering success on a shoestring budget.

I think you will find that most Yids agree with him.

  6. With all due respect, your knowledge of how Spurs operate is about as extensive as Matth's knowledge of electric kettles, Pixie.

    Sketchy, at best.

The trophy return hasn't been great but I don't think any other club in the Prem has progressed as much as us since Levy took over, excluding City and Chelsea of course. We've gone from mid-table obscurity, to competing with Everton and Villa as being the "best of the rest" for that 5th place spot to now being regular CL competitors. Also worth pointing out that we have reached a number of semi finals and a couple finals too. Levy can't be blamed for our players not having the cojones to get over the line. It's not just on the pitch we've progressed as well, we've arguably got the best stadium and best training facilities in Europe, which going forward should really help Spurs to progress even further or at the very least allow us to remain competitive.

He ain't perfect, he's had/ has flaws and he definitely needs to invest this summer - and significantly - but I'm very happy with him as our chairman.

With respect mate, you are a club that should be competing at the level you are now, but you have been ****ing **** for two decades. So it’s not a huge leap to say levy has improved you when you look at the baseline you we’re at.

I just think he’s got a glass ceiling mate. When you’ve needed investment to take you up to the next level, he hasn’t done it.

    Truth is truth though init

Levy hasnt backed his manager, it seems

I'll give him this golden period for us to grow some balls. I don't see the point in being ultra defensive about Levy. Our manager is dropping the same hints that Levy needs to back him...so i don't see the conspiracy

That's exactly it, we were **** for so long until ENIC came in. With or without trophies we're now one of the best teams in the country and a team that's growing in stature in Europe. It's been a slow road to getting to where we are and there's still so much more that we need to improve on but the journey in general has been predominantly positive. As a fan I've been desperate for more silverware but I'm also aware that the club has had to prioritise European football as that's where the money is.

I wouldn't say he has a glass ceiling, whilst we all want investment in the squad I think a lot of people, including Spurs fans, forget that he's had to balance paying for a new stadium along with trying to remain competitive on the pitch - although not strengthening in the summer and January was criminal. Hopefully now that the stadium is here (and I appreciate it still needs to be paid for), we can now focus on putting most of the effort into improving the personnel to get us to where we all want to be. We're now finally starting to earn "big boy money" so I think this summer and the next year or two will show just whereabouts Levy's at, there's no excuse now to not go big on a couple players.

The trophy return isn't what people make out anyway. So many of the Liverpool haters think fans should get on klopps back for not delivering a trophy yet... if I'm honest it's the biggest load of bullshit around. Fans of the club have seen us rise to being a world class team from pretty average in 3 years. Poch has done the same.

Obviously trophies are nice but it's much more about the bigger picture. There's rumours today that Klopp might be offered a contract that is similar to what the top players get... but he hasn't won anything. I don't care at this point, he's clearly better than anyone we could replace him with.

The transformation of the club under Klopp is astounding when you look at what he walked in to. Considering we've spent very little (net) just shows how good he is.

    Basically.. haters gonna hate.

Even if we don't win anything this season the progression is clear to see.

Same as Spurs if I'm honest.

He might surprise everybody I suppose and invest in the squad. His track record suggests otherwise though.

As you mention, you also now have the mill stone of the stadium debt and to attract the best players, you also need to be offering bigger wages.

Although the wage argument at spurs holds weight. Long term it's a recipe for disaster.

Monaco have been decimated over recent years. Terrible what's happening to that club.

No club can get anywhere without the chairman's backing.

All I'm saying is give Poch some money.

Levy has done a great job of us from a business perspective...now it's time to pay the football some attention.

We are where we are because of Poch not Levy...it's now or never for Levy time

    100%

He'll be mad not to listen to Poch. But it will also show if he's purely a numbers man or if he cares about the club and fans.

If he doesn't back Poch then as a fan you need to rise up and remove him.

I think his track record is based on the fact he's been looking at improving the infrastructure as well as trying to improve personnel. Realistically we could never be a big club in a 36k stadium and basic training facilities. We now have an elite stadium and excellent training facilities along with a very good football team. It's now about spending the necessary amount to go from being very good to hopefully the best (or at least trying to be the best).

The stadium debt should be more manageable nowadays than say if we'd built the stadium at the same time you did the Emirates. Money in football is at unprecedented levels and we ourselves are making record profits. We also haven't even sorted the naming rights which should bring in a huge windfall, especially after all the incredible reviews of the place, companies will want their name on it.

As for wages, that's no longer an issue. Poch is the second highest paid gaffer after Pep. Kane is now one of the Prem's top earners and a number of our key players are on £100k+ contracts. We offered to make Toby one of the best paid defenders in Europe but he's so far declined, whilst I'm sure the club are trying to do everything possible to keep Eriksen, who I personally think deserves parity with Kane.

Reaching the CL Final should put us in a much better bargaining position for stadium naming rights. We're very definitely in the shop window now.
