yes but he's out of order and just plain wrong. ok he's sort of right thst Baku is mad far away but it's still a UEFA country and as such has a right to host. Kiev has a right to host. being a westerner and just focusing on Spain to Germany is just plain wrong.
The problem is we've been poor away from home all season long in Europe. Our home form is fantastic but away form is poor. Spain technically neutral but I fear we end up playing like we're away from home. Play like we're in Anfield we will be OK... Play like we're in Spain, we won't
Baku is hosting it purely and simply because it is an oil rich dictatorship . Kiev is different as Ukraine has a solid history of football even if some of that was under the flag of the USSR .
still has same right every other country has to bid for it. we all know theres serious kickbacks involved all the time when it comes to the corrupt sorts that run football but it is the Europa final and this is sent all over the place as a rule
you all forget the mandate.... grow the game. they send the Europa final to small stadium in far flung places who might never get to see a chav or a melt
err it is a big stadium in fact it holds more than A Madrids does. They are unlikely to see many Brits normally since there are no direct flights from UK apparently.
As I said they send it out to small stadiums in far flung places. Go check the history of finals. As you've pointed out its an oil rich dictatorship so it's definition of small and our might be different. Frankly the cl final is in a smallish stadium tbh. They look for bigger usually. You can Google this if you refuse you believe me you know.
Think you may find there is only one suitable stadium in Azerbaijan and that is the hosting the event. just because UEFA are as bent as **** doesn't make it right .
agreed however they shouldn't actually get awarded the final. Wonder how EUFA are going to get round the Mikytarian (sp) visa problem.
We have 4 English teams in the finals of the two top competitions. Feeling smug? The press are having a field day about the power of the premiership. We were very very very close to having only one English team in these Finals. Liverpool. Could easily have been Barcelona. they were favourites after 3-0 up. Could easily have been the Spanish team instead. Spurs. Literally last kick of the match to go through. Ajax was 3-0 up and playing at home with 35 minutes remaining and were favourites at that point. Their striker missed 2 golden chances in that 2nd half. Unexpected but could clearly have been a Dutch team as a finalist. Chelsea: result in the balance until the pens. Were behind in the shootout to Frankfurt until the Germans missed their 2 pens. Chelsea could easily have missed out until the last few kicks. Arsenal: comfortable passage. So on another day, with the toss of a coin it could easily have been 1 Dutch team, 1 Spanish team, 1 English and 1 German team in those finals. Shows how in football we are talking about extremely fine margins. The 4 English teams going into the finals not necessarily a sign of domination. 3 non- English teams could deem themselves unlucky not to be in the finals. Superiority no; more like determination to play to the final whistle as well as some luck for them (and bad luck for their opponents).
if he were 16 then he would be 97 today. Wow a 97 man who sometimes behaves like a 9 year old... just joking astro...
