Yeah but in this case both teams are essentially guaranteed CL football next season no matter what. My question was more to do with would you rather be a part of a special game that you lose, or win a ****ty trophy in a second rate competition? My head says win the trophy but my heart would always prefer to be part of the bigger comp. Plus it shows what level your team are at.
Levels go up n down Tel as we are both acutely aware. We would all appreciate a CL final but sometimes we have to settle for the lesser which in its way is just as credible given our levels at that time.
Depends on whether you go or just watch on TV. If you go and witness defeat or loss then it adds to or wrecks the moment. I would think being at a winning EL beats being at a losing CL final. Makes **** all odds if you're sat at home. Just turn the TV off and move on.
Winning a pot is always gonna be better than losing a pot. Plus, winning the EL would give Arsenal a place back in the CL.
Well if we both get through I’m happy for you to win it and get in the CL. Help! I’m being held hostage in a bar by two Spuds wearing Norwich Hospital Cup Winners tee shirts.
@Matth_2014 will have popped in and edited, this could be a battle of wills. I have faith that you'll win that battle.
Deffo winning the pot. Obviously the journey to the final has to be CL no doubt about it. Europy is a slog and rather uninteresting for most of the matches, as seen by playing the reserves. However i would much rather watching my team win in the final than lose in one. Not only is it **** at the time, you then get further kicked by the wummery that persists years after
@brb if @Matth_2014 is going to be a bitter little scrotum then maybe his title below his avatar should be changed to "Well Done LFC, CL Finalists" Thoughts?
It's a great advert for leaving Southampton, isn't it? Pochettino, Gazzaniga, Wanyama, Alderweireld, Mane, Lallana, Lovren, van Dijk, Oxlade-Chamberlain... it's quite a list.
