Said on another board that I doubt the Spanish police are looking forward to 50k+ English fans rocking up to Madrid.
With all the madness that is happening, I'd imagine that it will reflect in the transfer market. When that door swings open, **** is going to get real. There's going to be some massive moves in this window, maybe the most money ever spent. The global audience is there, watching and waiting. And we are relatively safe......for a change.
Can't see Brighton causing any problems. They looked a lot better v's Arsenal, but if they come out to play like that again they'll be mince meat.
Also, this must affect the Nations League Semi final. England play Holland 5 days after the CL final that involves all those Spurs & Liverpool players.
I expect it will be something like 100k. English fans won’t fight each other in a different country though.
Wonder what odds it was for both Liverpool and spurs to progress to the final after losing their opening ties..... Bet someone somewhere had £5 on it.
I'm really not sure who I want to win. It's not Poch, just Spurs fans, but imagine the media love in if Liverpool win.
Hope it's a good game and an advert for the PL rather than a cagey affair between two teams familiar with each other.
Just discussed on Sky. There will be an open bus parade on the Monday for the winning side meaning some players will join England only 2 days before the semi-final. And some will be elated and some feeling down....though IMO you can never predict which is the better feeling for running out on the pitch for another game (must vary with the individual). Also pointed out that the Netherlands will be waiting on Wijnaldum and VVD.
I'm not even going to watch it, just going to scream LALALALALA in my head and pretend it isn't happening. Genuinely can't think of anything worse that could happen from a footballing perspective than this
So often the semi-finals are better than the final. In the semi-finals teams want to win...in the final they become afraid to lose. The familiarity between the 2 finalists will also reduce excitement. I think Liverpool will win...possibly 3-1.
Pochettino Alderweireld Wanyama Lallana Lovren Mane Van Dijk All former saints involved in the CL final? Plus Tadic in the semis. Shows how good our squad and recruitment was.
