A gooner replying in the Guardian Never in all my years as a gooner did I ever expect myself to be cheering on Spurs. But there I was letting out a gentle "Yes!" when they scored their first goal, the second goal goes in and beyond my control a louder "C'mon!!" comes shooting out of my mouth. I stop and think of Tomas Rosicky to try and regain some Spurs hatred but it's no good and then they go and score a third! By now I'm in full on 'Alli is quite nice actually' mode. No doubt tomorrow when I wake up my love of Spurs will have gone with the night, but for now congratulations to them and Liverpool on what is sure to be a corker of a final
Sadly I'm in that age group where we start dropping off our perches & most have beaten me to it. They were all lovely people which is my criteria for friendship & not what club they support, Anyway, I'm too happy tonight for gloomy thoughts so COYS!
Ajax did have problems winning at home in the latter stages and we have won there before which is to what I was clinging . Now, Liverpool turn a 3-0 away deficit in the first leg to a 4-0 home win and we turn a 0-1 home deficit into a 2-3 away win so who is more effective? We have a City goal ruled out in the dying minutes to go through and tonight we score in the last seconds of the match to go through to the final. One goal separates us again as oft times recently so.......................... what for the final?
