If we had all these fabulous players then why did they nearly all leave on free transfers? We've had a handful of really good ones and the others have been as average as this new lot. Okay okay, we did get £86k for Jonathan Parr.
Tommy Smith was far superior to Nsiala and could score goals as well but we let him walk away just before Evans cashed in on our best defender Webster to the tune of £ 3 M + in profit. If you think Nsiala was a better player than Smith I should lay off the herbal tobacco if I were you.
I was sad to see him go, it was ridiculous. But he wasn’t half sloppy at times. These players are all much of a muchness and in a decent side they’d all do alright, in a poor side they’d all be shown up. The only true quality we have at the back is Luke Woolfdenden who is the best defender we’ve had at the club at least since Jason De Vos.
Dragging this thread back on topic https://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/sport...n-signing-striker-connor-washington-1-6036379 Any thoughts?
I would say that’s exactly the kind of player Town will sign and so it goes on... What we need from a striker is someone with a bare minimum 1/3 goals to games ratio and really we should be spending cash to be signing someone who gets around 1/2.
He's got a pretty average record in League One, based on his time at Peterborough. I don't think he's good enough in the Championship. The current strikeforce needs drastic improvement, but I don't think Conor Washington provides that.
If he's cheap we 'll have him especially if he's not fixed up somewhere else so we can pay him the lowest wages possible, everything in this Club is done on the cheap and has been for years. Do you want your Club to be successful or not Evans ? You know which business model doesn't work so how about trying something which might ? Thanks a lot for not Implementing the ST discount by the way because we missed the target by a handful of sales, your treatment of the supporters and their enthusiasm is a disgrace and their loyalty you certainly do not deserve, for Gods sake go !
Agreed on both counts. I really hope there is some good news on the season tickets because if he doesn't honour it in some way people are not going to fall for such 'tricks' again and it will have done more harm than good.
In other news, Bolton are likely to offload their squad. I don't fancy their forwards but could do worse than cherry pick the likes of Wheater, Beevers or Ameobi...
Yes indeed. The tricks and lies from the likes of Farage, Johnson, Gove and the illegal activities of the official Leave campaign were absolutely shocking.
Sounds like Lambert has finally acknowledged what we have all known for sometime... that Spence is ****.
https://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/sport/ipswich-town/town-winger-edwards-linked-to-hull-1-6042121 If Hull offer anything close to the fee we paid for him no doubt ME will cash in. Would be sorry to see him go,whilst he’s blown hot and cold he was one of our more genuinely exciting players on his day and may have been effective against League One defences.
He’s at least a £3m player. Of course they want him. We can’t expect the other Chairmen and managers to be as stupid as our own.
We won’t get that for him, because of our relegation, the form of the team, the team selections and our terrible negotiation skills but that’s at least how good he is. He’s our best player so obviously Hull have a good scouting set up.
Well if one of our summer signings were to be sold off, I thought it would be Edwards. Inconsistent this season, no argument there, but he showed glimpses of quality and you’d like to think he’d better adapt to the Championship surrounded by better players. I don’t think he’s our best player at the club and we probably won’t get £3m for him, but he’d be very effective for us in League One. If we are playing a diamond formation next season, I struggle to see where he’d fit. If we are playing 4-3-3 with wingers, he should be in the starting eleven.
