Ha ha! I did actuallly scored against Wales but hit the post in a 1-0 win against the Scots!! On the old slope at the Accies old ground!
I am shocked to see some have predicted Shane Long being oved out. I think he typifies the fighting spirit under Ralph and he would be one player I would be desperate to keep on board. Perhaps he is the one Saints player who the fans of opposing teams rate higher than Saints fans? Other than that, I pretty much agree with the opening post but would have to add that I cannot see any money being recouped for the players being moved on. I do not think anyone will pay money for the likes of Boufal, Carillo, Hoedt and Clasie and would expect this money has been written off already. As for Ellynoussi, surely he will be going back to Norway. What an absolutely pointless purchase last summer.
Agree about Long...he suits Ralph's style....and most importantly he's here. We need to replace Austin and good strikers are hard to find at our price level....why set yourself the additional task of finding a replacement for Long. As for the other players you named, we will be able to get some money for them....they may not suit us, but should suit somebody....the problem may be wages, so we are probably expecting a hit. As Ralph said in his press conference, you have to find a solution that suits both us and the players. There has been a rumour (no idea of validity) that Ralph wants to look at Boufal.
Agree all the players you have mentioned are poor purchases. I will however mention something in Carillo's defence. His goal scoring record was pretty poor in inferior leagues to the EPL: he, at least, matched most people's expectations.
We’ll arrange that. I Played football with him for a few years; his Dad coached our boys team. He could have played pro football but considered it his “second sport” and always wanted to be a cricketer.
